I use a laptop at work. I just put an empty box of printer paper on the printer stand behind my desk and moved my lap top over to that for a while so I can stand. I also use an exercise ball instead of a chair most of the time.

I get up every hour or two and run 25 flights of steps in my building! My job is very sedentary, too. Fortunately, my workplace is flexible and supportive of my mini-workouts throughout the day. :-)

That's awesome! My building is only 3 stories. I make a lap around it sometimes.

My desk is kinda funny right now, because I have many moniter stands placed in such a way to raise my desk so I stand while at work... it's kinda like tetris with random office furniture that I had to scavange across the city for.

the company I used to work for tried killing us all

    it was a call center

they yelled at you if you stood up to take calls

Would I have had to get a Dr's note to stand and stretch or could I have just sued them?

    Hmmmm

My building is three stories too, but it's very long and wide and has about ten different stairwells. I climb all of them... and this is why I'm the office weirdo. haha

Sitting is partially to blame for my periformis syndrome. Ugh.
