Howdy all. I'm James, aka "Amish" as most know me. Recently, I've felt unhealthy and just down in general. I'm 39% BMI and need to change it. My goal is to be 225 by New Years. I've never seriously considered doing it before. My second goal is a 5k on 25AUG. I have been doing a Couch to 5k program for 2 weeks. It's tough after being fat and lazy for so long. My first jog/walk, my average mile was 15:30, sad. Today I did a 12 minute mile, my 6th time out. I'm battling shin splints, but that comes down to stretching, every day, not just run days. I'd say wish me luck, but I have to do this. Luck shouldn't play into this life change, there's no lucky way to lose the weight.

The first real hurdle now that I've started my 3rd week of exercise is getting my eating habits changed. I've been staying near my calories, but really have to start knocking the carbs out. That is the toughest for me. I pitched all my delivery menus today and am going to get serious on that front.0

You can do it. It is hard but it is so worth it in the end.0

Welcome and it sounds like you have gotten off to a good start. I've found it hard to cut the carbs too.0
