Final 10 lbs

Anybody trying to lose that stubborn final 10?? Or does anyone know of another board with this same topic? I am a frustrated final 10 lbs loser who can't seem to get it off. Interested in starting a group or joining one already going......

oh i am in the same boat, struggling and struggling, these are the worst pounds to come off they stick like glue and i got a bit fed up the weekend and had a binge but back on board again:drinker:0

I know what you mean about the binge attack...I get so frustrated...on the weekend I have too much time to dwell and end up eating. The week is not so bad because of work etc.....but getting back on board is important. I am hoping to get some good motivational help on here. Stick to it!0

I have heard some folks say that the last 10 pounds sometimes requires folks to pay more attention to their balance of carbs, protein, sugars, fiber, etc- the fine details. I think SHboss wrote a post about what that is at some point, but I can't remember the thread name. Maybe he'll stumble upon this one and drop some info on us.0

I read in Bob Greens Best Life that you need to increase your exercise level....there is a scale for the levels.....so if you do 3-4 days of hard cardio in a week, by increasing to the next level, you wouldn't really even need to change the food plan you follow. That is of course if you are maintaining....I call it stuck!....your current weight. Sorry I don't have the exact scale...don't have it with me and I think it is variable depending on your personal fitness level etc...0

I'd like to lose 20 more, however, I don't think I even weighed this little in high school, lol! I've found a bunch of stuff I figure is contributing to my inability to lose it. one is my frustration with how slowly its coming off lately, at first it was 3-5 lbs a week, now its like a fluctuating plateau. I give in a lot more to cravings now because I've come so far, I just want to get strict again, but its so hard when the results aren't immediate! Then there's the outside forces of people telling me I look great why would I want to lose more, and then telling me I "deserve" the treats etc. These last lbs are the stickiest and I think they take the hardest work and most concentration on what goes in your mouth! Good luck to everyone in overcoming this final barrier! WE CAN DO IT!0

I was in that same boat at the beginning of year. Needed to lose those last 10 so I could fit into my wedding dress. I lost those last 10 in about 6 months. It does take a lot of paying attention to food and consistency in your workouts. This is where clean eating makes a HUGE difference. But I think the biggest thing that helped me was I upped my protein levels. I made sure I was eating 55% carbs, 25% protein and 20% fat. I had to customize my goals for that. Consistency in my workouts and making sure I was eating at least 75% of my workout calories really helped. I'm 5'7 so I think I had set my calorie intake at 1420.
I do have to confess that since my wedding 3 months ago I have gained back 4 lbs...not too bad. But I'm back on my wagon and already starting to see those extras melt off.

i am in my last 10 pounds. i already lost 2 lbs. i had to change my routing of exercising. more lfting weights. i also do more intense cardio. my usual cardio does not challenge my muscles. think of it this way once you get to those last lbs your body is forming as an atheleat's (sorry spll) body. so you need to challenge your muscle like an atheleat. my eating habits i can not alter anymore, if i do i will go into starvation mode. what i am starting to do is take in protein shakes as a meal usually when i go out. so that way if i ate too much when i go out to eat, i can regulate it with a shake and not feel too guilty about splurging. it also keeps me full. hope this help some people. i am determined to lose those last lbs and keep it off.0

Hello ladies,
Do not give up. You have come too far slide back again. Ive been told that with the last 10 lbs you have to totally change your workout regime because the body can easily adjust thereby making it difficult to lose the weight. I am not sure what everyone does for cardio but perhaps stepping it up and doing something a bit more challenging might help.
Also, don't let your friends influence negatively impact you. Most people wish they had our level of discipline. Making a committment to lose weight is a big deal and it's really easy for people to tell you you don't need to. I tell everybody "while you may be alright with my weight, I am not and I am the one who matters".

It's actually not about the consistency in the workouts, but the inconsistency.
Allow me to explain: After you lose soo much weight, the body gets "used" to the excercises you do, and the foods you eat, and just stays at that weight without losing more pounds.
What you need to do is change your workout around. Confuse your body. Eat something different. Those kinds of things will make losing the final 10 way easier then you would think.

Nick-I agree. What I meant by consistency in the workouts is making sure you are not skipping them. I totally agree with the fact that muscle confusion is the a main key in those last 10. That was a major factor in my workouts.0

I've actually been meaning to start a thread about this as well!
I'd like to lose about 10 to 15 more pounds, but my body is comfortable HERE! I've been plateaued for a little over 4 months, fluctuating a couple pounds.
I'd love to keep a thread going where we can bounce ideas around and maybe try some simple changes together. :flowerforyou:

I have been going back and forth as well.....for the last 6 months or so. Up 2 then down 2. Very frustrating. I even just completed a marathon in October....and all the training didn't help me lose but just a couple lbs. So...I am looking for some specific ways to trick my body into shedding 6 more lbs. But...I am committed to getting it off and keeping it off.0
