Going to the ballpark

Ugh - What to do??!! I'm one day in. You heard me. One day. And I'm already stumped. Ideas?? I guess I must skip the beer - even light? Maybe one light beer?? Or are there too many carbs? Help me. I need to make a plan before I go so I don't freak out and eat a hot dog.

Eat before you go and skip the food. Or, have a big workout and eat a hotdog. I'd go easy on the beer though (maybe a couple of bottles)...it's easy to rack up a lot of calories without realizing it.

Get yourself a couple of hotdogs, a beer, and some cracker jack...... just don't swallow any of it.

Seriously, I go to the ballpark all the time and I eat BEFORE I go. Get bottled water instead of beer. (On occasion I have enough calories saved to allow a beer or two.... but usually I'll have the water)

Go and enjoy yourself.... just make sure you prioritize.

Went to Turner Field the other week and ate a grilled chicken wrap and a coke zero around the 4th inning...~ 400 cals....for the rest of the game I drank water or another coke zero. Most ball parks have some sort of alternative foods that are not as bad as dogs or burgers... Grilled chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc...

There are other sites out there as well that can be of help.

All good ideas - Thanks!! Here's my takedown from the suggestions: (1) I really will have to skip the beer. It will be tough, but It must be done. (2) I'll eat before I go (unfortunately no time for a workout) and I may take some smart snacks. That was a suggstion from a friend. (3) CHEER!!! Hopefully it will be a good game, but it's the Phillies and they are having a bit of a rough start. It's still early, right??

    1. Eat before you go
    2. Exercise enough that day to allow for a beer or two if you really want one.
    3. Log it all
    4. Enjoy!!!

I go to the ball park all the time. I TAKE my food with me....I just cant eat most of the stuff there, not to mention the prices! And I take a water bottle with ice and fill it with water from a fountain when I get there.

You are going to be presented with dozens and dozens of opportunities like this one. Today it's the ballpark, tomorrow it's a friend's wedding, the day after a birthday etc.

Keep your head in the game and remind yourself that the only reason you are making a lifestyle change is because YOU want it. Honor your decision :)
