Is this bad?

So, I've read the stuff about exercise calories and that you should eat them so you don't go into starvation mode. However, I want a little more clarity on this. My daily calorie goal is 1200. I generally consume 1300-1500 per day, and when I exercise, I burn at least 500 a day. If I am ever feeling weak, or that I have not had enough food, I don't hesitate to eat something. There's usually around 300 calories left when the day is over. Is it bad for me to have leftover calories after exercising?
I've completed my first week and have lost 2.2 lbs, hopefully this will continue!

I think that this is OK... Always be over 1200, and eat some of your exercise calories (I don't eat all mine ever). I think if you are going to eat more, especially in the evening, make it lean protein and not carbs. This has worked for me.0
