Hi I have decided to start using MFP to track my eating while using a lot of ideas from dr furmans book eat to live. Anybody else doing this? Trying to eat around 1200 calories a day. Need encouragement from someone else who might have done this.

Hi! I've been following the "aggressive weight loss" plan in Eat to Live for the past week (started on Tuesday 6/19). I've also been tracking everything I put in my mouth with MFP, but haven't really been trying to keep to a certain calorie goal. It's enough of a struggle on some days to make sure I'm meeting the goals of eating the right amount of cooked and raw veggies and beans. But, overall, I am excited about this way of eating and have lost 10 lbs so far.0

I've been doing this for almost a month now. It was definitely difficult in the beginning thinking about ways to stay under 1200 calories. The first week or so I kept my meals pretty basic, but I knew I would get bored eating the same things everyday (regular veggies, eggs, meat, etc) so I did some recipe searching. I would recommend Hungry Girl, SkinnyTaste and Undressed Skeleton as some good place to pick up some great low cal recipes! Pretty much all three have nutrition info with every recipe so you can track really easily. Great job on your 10 pound weight loss so far!! That is awesome!0

When I really stick to the plan I find it hard to go above 1200 calories. And I have really stopped logging and counting up the calories. I just visualize the Furhman food pyramid and try to let that be my guide.0
