Short girls with around 15-20lbs to lose

I was wondering about how many calories you burn in exercise each day? I'm around 5'2"(I think) and on average I burn about 300 each day. I'm starting to think maybe I shud do more because I'm not losing any lbs. I keep bouncing between 133 and 131 and I'm getting very frustrated.

    I feel your pain...I'm in the same weight range, same height and I want to lose between 15-20 lbs...
    I usually burn about 380 on the non boot camp days and anywhere from 350-530 calories on boot camp days. I feel like I'm not doing enough too...

    i dont know if im short (5'4) but i burn about 300 per workout as well. drives me bonkers seeing 600+ calories burned im like HOW!?!? haha... i still eat like 1800-1900 though :)

    I'm in a similar boat. I'm 5'0 (almost, anyway) and I'm bouncing between 132-134. It's been driving me nuts, but I've also been measuring and I've lost inches (2 off thighs, 1 off hips, 1.5 off waist and .5 off arms). I'm burning between 200-350 just about daily (sometimes, sometimes less) with a workout dvd or run/walk/other activities. I'm eating my TDEE, and I'm now focusing on the toning aspect because I don't really care about the scale-- I care about the inches since they really impact how I look and how clothes fit.

    I'm 5'2, want to drop about 20 lbs. I generally burn between 300 and 350 a day, haven't seen my scale move down at all either! Inches are coming off so I am seeing some progress, am actually thinking about upping my calories a couple hundred, I've been staying right around 1200 the past few weeks. UGH!!

    Not trying to lose any more, but I burn only about 100 - 300 calories a day. I upped my calories recently because my weight is getting a little low for my liking.

    i'm 5'3" & 142 (last time i checked...a few weeks ago. i'm on a scale fast. lol)

    my usual burn:
    lifting (3x week): 200-300
    boot camp (2x week): 400-500
    zumba (2x week): 550-700

    in 2010, i lost my first 20 doing zumba 6x week but i wasn't totally happy with my body composition. i plateaued for like a year with only zumba twice a week.

    then this year i added boot camp and started to see positive changes.

    but honestly, i've seen results (body composition) more quickly with heavy lifting (lowest "burn").

    you don't necessarily have to DO more, maybe just up the intensity of what you're doing or change your exercise routine all together.

    Same here! 5"2 and it's frustrating to see such high burns for other people on my news feed.
    I've heard others burning 5-600 for INSANITY, which is pretty insane indeed, and yet I've never burned more than 350cals in a workout :c

    I'm currently upping my cals though (joined the EM2WL folks) because being short was for me automatically -> need less cals so eating 1200 is okay. Hopefully this is going to break that major plateau I'm in. I'm only 1-2 weeks in so I can't say how it's working yet, but patience patience!

    I've also noticed that I burn around 300 calories. I usually do the elliptical for 30 minutes at 6.5-7 mph.

    Somehow, it tells me that an hour and a half of light bicycling burns nearly 600 for me... WHAT?!! It's awesome if it does, but that doesn't really seem realistic compared to my other workouts.

    Same boat as many of you, I am 5'2", and older (age 47) - and on a good workout, I am lucky to burn 350 cal for 60 minutes. :) Usually it 250-300, unless its intense cardio. Then its 400 per hour.

    My metabolism seems slower then it was when I was 20 ish, so I think that can create some extra challenges.

    1 hour on a treadclimber, high incline, 4.0 speed, intervals but mostly a steady jog, pushing it the whole time - I burn 400 calories, If I add a weighted vest I burn 450. Machine says 800 - but my heart rate monitor says 400.

    Frustrating to see larger folks burn 800-1000 cal in that same hour.

    That being said, for me personally, I had to up my workouts, to continue to lose inches, or lbs. 300 cal burn a day, just does not work when I was closer to my goal size. When I was larger it was okay.

    If I eat 1200 calories, I eventually plateau, and I can't realistically lower my calories more (any yes I have done so, many times)

    I also lose energy at that cal range. So I aim for roughly 1400 cals a day, but I also am more relaxed on weekends, having one free day. So I would average slightly more for the full week.

    I have upped my calories to 1500, 1600, and 1700 daily- but for me I start to gain fat and inches in my waist, at those levels. So for now I cannot do that. I am hoping I will get there though, once I lower body fat a bit more, and add in a bit more muscle. But that's for another day, when I am fully in maintenance I hope.

    I now aim for roughly 800 calorie burn about 4 days a week, 300-400 on day five. Weekends are wind down time, no programed workouts, but I am often active with yard work / life stuff. But thats 4 days a week I have 2 hours worth of workout, one day is 60 minutes. Not doable for everyone. ( I do an AM and a PM workout, weights and cardio)

    My weight does not drop much now, as I am close to my goal size, but inches are - thats my true concern. I look tighter leaner, and I am a smaller size - then last time I was at this weight, when I was less fit. I still want to lose a bit more fat, as I still have some bra overhang, and a pudgy bit stuck on my lower abs.

    I have a decent amount of muscle mass, and I will take that any day, over a lighter scale weight, as I want lower body fat levels, leaner tight look, smaller clothing sizes, and higher metabolism that comes with increased muscle vs more fat. : )

    I Weight lift 3 days a week with heavier ranges, lower reps, and that has made the most dramatic changes in my body. I really do recommend it, even though the scale may say you weigh more, because of muscle increase - you "look" smaller. With a more "ideal" body look. (as in not jiggly)

    I am at a size 4,6,7 and I have never been there before. I am a curvy hourglass, weighing in at 145 lb. I look pretty tight except for some last lower ab pudge, which is my challenge at the moment.

    Last time I was a size 7/8 when I was 17, I weighed 118 lbs. (but much higher body fat)

    I look much nicer now :)
