I have 7 day antibiotics for a UTI but 4th of july is wed and I want to drink wed. I just started the antibiotics today. Should I stop taking them early or just not drink or can I hurt my body if I drink the day after I am finished?

I've been a pharmacy tech for nearly a decade and will be starting school to become a Pharmacist next spring. Wait at least 3 days after your antibiotic is finished. Dont stop taking them just so you can have a drink, your UTI will get worse0

with most antibiotics you are ok to mix both , but would be best to ask the doctor :-)0

Asking your doctor would be a good idea, but I took antibiotics for something other than a UTI and I was told to take the full prescription and once I started taking them I was not supposed to stop early or take breaks from the pills. I was told that drinking could make the pills less effective. But those were my pills not yours, yours could be different.
Your doctor would be able to tell you if you could drink or not, so you should ask your doctor or if your don't want to talk to your doctor it might help if you type in the name of your antibiotica and see what pops up online.0 -
Thanks for the anseer! from what I read, you should wait 3 days after and always complete all antibiotics lol I guess I am screwed then. Its cephalexen so you should not have it with alcohol at all

nope, no alcohol, not even a glass of wine or a can of beer and if you get an upset stomach easily make sure to eat something like a banana or apple at the very least or take it with a meal :-)0
