Homemade protein shakes receipes please.

Hi all, Does anyone have any protein shake receipes that they use to help to aid weight loss. I miss out on breakfast every morning to due to work etc and my husband suggested making my own protein shakes to replace breakfast that I could make the night before and take with me while I am driving to work. I haven't a clue where to start. What sort of protein powder should I use?

  • I am looking at making my own "homemade" protein shake. I will add Protein Plus Peanut Flour (I just got it yesterday) to my chocolate milk.

    You could also use PB2 if you have that. I also received that in my order yesterday, but it has less protein, but still the peanut butter flavor I am looking for.

    Protein Plus Peanut Flour -1/4 C
    110 calories
    4 grams fat
    4 gram of fiber
    2 grams sugar
    16 grams protein

    1 Cup Fage Full Fat Greek Yogurt
    1/2 Cup So Delicious Coconut Milk
    3-4 Blackberries
    1/2-1 Strawberry
    3-4 Raspberries
    1 Scoop protein of your choice. I used Casein vanilla from Optimum.

    Tastes incredibly smooth.

    Simple and effective:

    2 scoops vanilla protein powder
    3/4 cup lactose free milk
    1 medium nanner
    1 tbsp natty peanutbutter
    1 tbsp hersheys special dark cocoa powder

    Bout 60g's of protein, 300 cals.

    This is one of my current favorites:

    1 cup unsweetened coconut/almond milk blend
    6 ounces Fage 0% nonfat plain Greek yogurt
    1 frozen banana (or unfrozen, your choice, I just like the cold)
    1 Tablespoon chocolate PB2
    1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar (McCormick)

    < 300 calories, VERY filling and smooth, lots of protein. You could probably experiment with substituting some vanilla protein powder for the yogurt for a slightly higher protein punch.


    You should TOTALLY invest in a single-serve blender, I got mine for less than $20 and I have NO IDEA how I ever lived without it. Making a shake in the morning takes less than 3 minutes.
