Scared I'll gain

I just finished a 6 month diet contest at work and lost 21.5 lbs during. The contest starts over next week and I didn't rejoin because it kind of stressed me worrying about losing and if I'm going to win, etc.

Now, I'm worried I will regain or not lose the 26 lbs I want to lose if I don't rejoin! What would you do?

You may just need to ask yourself if having the contest helped push you though the goal deadline. Sometimes it just helps having that specific goal to remind yourself to keep at it. That's usually helps me the most, because if I don't have a deadline then I'll just push it off. So it is really a question of, what will keep you motivated? You always want to make sure that loosing weight is a lifestyle change so that the weight doesn't come back on, but a deadline goal can help with that process. And even if you don't want to join that specific challenge, I bet there are others out there or even you could start your own with a group.

    Good luck! : )

True. I think being in the contest pushes me to lose because we have to weigh every week and an email is sent out to everyone in the contest telling how much we gained or lost. I HATE everyone knowing I've gained and if I don't weigh-in they can only assumed I gained.

I like how you worded it saying if you don't have a deadline you'll just push it off. That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm not really "pushing it off" but I'm not pushing myself to lose "as fast" either. So, contest seems best for me.

Thanks for your post! It helped! :)
