Nope. I don't think body size matters but I do think the shape of your face does. If the face is super round I don't care for it personally, but really I never look at anyone and think "wow that hircut makes her look fat" haha. Do it you want0 -
absolutely isn't weird. from your profile pic, it looks like you have the face shape to pull it off. it's not based on someones weight, it's based on the shape of the face. i don't do short very well, but i have a friend with short hair who is quite a bit heavier than i am and she looks awesome!0

it depends on the cut....maybe some wispy bangs but not full ones.....0

This is me about four years ago. If I remember correctly I was about 170 lbs or somewhere in there; as I'm 5'4", that's definitely big (and I'm even bigger now)
It was super cute and easy maintenance.0 -
Unfortunately yes, I think only thin women can pull off pixies, and even then they don't look that great compared to chin/shoulder length. (As long as it is chin or shoulder length it is not too short.)
I like the long-front short-back thing, though.0 -

Firstly, wrong place to ask for an opinion. There was a "short hair on any girl" post a while back and it was a complete bash-fest of girls with short hair. So try to ignore the influx of "Short hair makes you look like a man" posts that will come.
Secondly, I think is its about face shape. When I was heavier, it showed a LOT in my face. Especially my lower face. And I didn't think pixie short was a good idea. After I lost a big, my face thinned way out (I have a naturally thin face), and I got the pixie I was lusting after for so long.
From your picture, your face is much thinner than mine was when I was just 15 lb overweight. I'd say if you want it, go for it! It is only hair, it grows back!0 -
I've been wearing that style for years, even at my heaviest. I have been going shorter and shorter as I get smaller, though - the cut has to be proportionate. I had a lot more volume when i was bigger.0

If you want my honest opinion, I don't think I have ever seen a bigger girl pull off a pixie cut. Now that is not to say that it hasn't happened, I just haven't seen it. I certainly wouldn't not try it on myself, but I am not skinny either.
In terms of short cuts that are a bit longer, I have seen adorable ones on all kinds of women, and all different sizes. I would maybe go that route first, and from there you will have a better idea.0 -

The long-front short-back cut he's talking about is an inverted A-line cut; it's often asymmetric, meaning one side is shorter than the other to give it a more interesting silhouette. Had this as I was growing out my pixie cut. ^^0 -

I agree with this, short cuts are not flattering on round faces in my opinion. But it's your hair and you should do what you want!0 -
Yes - I agree - do what you want. I used to have supershort spiky hair when I was thinner but now that I'm bigger, I've put off cutting it all off until my weight is gone. But looking at your profile pic, you don't look that big so I say go for it.0

I'm about 200 hrs away from getting my cosmetology liscense and I work in my student salon. I can tell you that it's all about facial shape. The ideal shape is oval, so you want any type of cut/color that helps create that illusion.
From your profile pic alone, you look almost diamond-face shaped (you don't look like you have alot of weight in your face either).
So, I would recommend maybe trying some bangs and longer styles that have weight near or slightly below the jawline. For color, an hombre look with lighter ends would also give emphasis to that kind of cut and give it even more depth/shape.0 -
Meh, I got one when I was overweight. I wouldnt say it looked bad on just my face, but if you zoomed out and compared it to the rest of my body i think it probably looked a little funny.0

You have a great face shape for a bob cut. Shorter in the back to longer angle to the front. I bet it'd be cute on you!0

^^ Totally agree with this. More about the shape of your face & your features than body size. I rocked super short hair at 270+ :drinker:0 -
Depends on your face shape0

I had a pixie at 190 and I still at 150. You have the face to pull it off, I say go for it. I love my hair and all those men out there that think short hair makes you look 'manish' can kiss it. I'm a DD and 5'11 and I guarentee you I don't look like a man...0

I cut my hair SUPER short (that really cute asymmetric bob cut everyone had like 4 years ago) when I was heavier and it looked horrible (to me). BUT---I'm one of those people that when I gain weight, you can totally see it in my face. I felt like it made me look even fatter.
That said, It totally depends on your face shape, too. I have a good friend who is very overweight who looks better with short hair all the time. It just really depends on the person. Honestly I'd ask a stylist--a good one--what they'd recommend for your bone structure. I'm jealous of anyone with the balls/good bone structure to pull off super short hair, I'm pretty much confined to long hair for the rest of my life I think!0 -

Short hair on girls rocks my boat.
Big or small or medium, it don't matter to me0 -
I did the pixie when I was heavier and I liked it at the time, but in photos, I probably should have let my hair grow out a little bit. It didn't really flatter my face that much, but I do have more of a round face. It's funny though because now the thinner I get, the longer my hair gets.. before, the heavier I got, the shorter my hair was. You'd think it'd be the opposite. I loooove pixie cuts but you really need a certain face for it - like Halle Berry, Michelle Williams. Fabulous pixie cuts.0

I agree with others that it's the shape of the face. My hair is very thin and I finally have short hair now (after my husband relented)! It's a great cut for my hair texture. Ask your stylist. That is the key...she/he has to tell you what you 'need' to hear about your cut/color not what you 'wanna' hear. I have been with my same beautician for years and she knows by now to tell me the truth.
Good luck!0 -

I never knew that name. Asymmetric cuts are awesome.
And I heart you for not saying "asymmetrical".0 -
I don't care if this is a year old! Bump Bump Bump!!!! Short hair on anyone looks fine! You can pull it off better then a skinny girl ever could sometimes!0
-
Short hair looking good really only depends on your facial structure, not your weight. I recommend cutting it short at first, but not into a pixie cut if you're not sure. I have had my hair cut pixie-style for eons now and I love it, but if you don't end up loving it is the WORST growing it back out.0

Some of the best short haircuts I've seen have been on big girls! Especially on bigger women who are older.0
