How to keep the motivation going?

This isn't a "Woe is me, I'm bored, it's too HARD" post.
This is a "Okay, I'm feeling really damned good, why not stop now?" post.
According to my doctor, MFP and all sundry resources on the web, when I started this journey I stood to lose at LEAST a good 70 lbs.
I've lost 40.
I feel GREAT. I'm running 5Ks. I'm biking all over town. I don't lose my breath climbing stairs. People compliment me on my fitness. It's all AWESOME!
That said, I'm still considered "Obese" by the WHO, and I do still have a spare tire.
My thing, though, is that since I'm feeling so rockin' good, I'm really starting to think along the lines that I'm "done." I've addressed the issue, I feel better, I can do stuff I couldn't before, I've accomplished SO MUCH...
Who's to say that this isn't where I was meant to pack it in?
(Also, maybe I'm just a teensy bit bored with it all. I wasn't completely honest about that.)

It all depends on your personal goals and how truly satisfied you are.
Indeed, take pride in your huge weightloss and success thus far- you have earned it!!!
That being said, think of all the other things you may still yet accomplish?!
Shoot for the stars, keep moving forward, and never Settle!0 -
First of all... GIVE YOURSELF A HUGE REWARD FOR FEELING SO GREAT AND COMING SO FAR!
Take a nice trip or vacation where nothing matters. Relaaaaaaaaaaaax.
And when you get back to the real world, start up again. Give yourself plans. Plan rewards for yourself for each pound lost, even if its as simple as an ice cream sundae at your favourite restaurant. Get yourself excited again, and remind yourself of the goal you gave yourself when you started. Don't give up on it. :P0 -
Thanks for the input!
Personal goals are a funny thing... some days they're "get out of bed," and some days they're, well, say a tad bit higher.
I have two small kids (8 and 6) so the nothing-matters vacation is, realistically speaking, a few years out yet. But I get the gist.
Thing is, I go back and forth... when I hit a new low, I'm geeked to still be losing - but when I gain back a pound or so, I think, meh, I've come this far, why stress about further?
Maybe just a good night's sleep or two?
Good thoughts though as far as not losing the ORIGINAL goal... I've surely got MFP to remind me of that!0
