New to this site...

Hi :) I've tried off and on my entire life to lose weight. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember. I've done Weight Watchers, The Cabbage Soup Diet, NutriSystem... You name it and I've done it. It all worked for a little while, but my head... it always got in my way.

See, I suffer from anxiety and clinical depression. I didn't realize how badly it effected my life until I FINALLY found a medication that worked for me. The difference in my head is AMAZING and it's allowing me to pursue this lifelong goal without constantly feeling like it'll never work and that it's probably futile to try.

I've been working on it for 5 weeks now. I've had some bad food choices. I had a week that I couldn't get any exercise in. (Muscle spasm in my back that lasted 5 days. Ugh.) I've had my fears the night before weigh in and the days where I feel like I have so VERY far to go that I'll never actually GET there.

I'm still going though. I haven't let those things derail me like I have in the past. Deep down, I KNOW I can do this. Yeah, it's gonna take a long time. Yeah, it's gonna mean a LOT of hard work and a LOT of pushing through things that get in the way. I can do it though.

In the last 5 weeks, I've lost 22 lbs. I've increased my daily exercise from 10 minutes done in 1-2 minute bursts then a rest then going at it again, to 30 minutes a day 5 days a week with much shorter breaks and longer and longer intervals before needing a break. Today I did a full 20 minutes before having to stop. I stopped only a few seconds then pressed on.

I started this 5 weeks ago at 468 lbs. Today I weight 446. I have a LONG way to go. Hopefully this site will help me keep my sights set on my goal and help me get there.

Thanks CopyCat :) I'm going one day at a time. Sometimes, one meal at a time. :) This site has already been REALLY helpful. I had no clue how many calories I should be taking in. I was kinda shocked to see how many they suggested.
  • Just take it one day at a time.Thats what I have to do.I think to myself,I can not get any bigger! And when I feel like just eating whatever,,,I remember that number on the scale. And how good its gonna feel to be able to buy smaller clothes..and keep up with my lil ones!
