I can't have a drink while I'm working, so I find it very difficult to get in all the water I need. How do you do it?

I drink water on my drive to and from work. This is huge for my water consumption... I also drink a glass at night, and if I work out, I get a glass then. So that's a good amount of water!0

I would try drinking as much as you can before you go to work, as you are getting ready. Then drink more in the car, on your breaks, etc.
I often have days that I have a lot of water to drink at the end of the day so I just CHUG as much as I can! It helps me to chug a large glass before meals.0 -
I drink two glasses at breakfast, two at lunch, then two at dinner. A also drink one right before bed then take a glass to bed with me.0

Coming from the restaurant industry, isn't it illegal to not allow employees ready access to water? IDK. Just thinking. I drink 4 of those glasses just during my workout, but I'm not sure how I'd get the rest in if I weren't able to drink (water) during work. If I drink them in the evening, I'll just be up in the middle of the night! (sorry TMI) Hope you can figure it out--especially if you're active, you need that H2O!0

I was just about to say almost the exact same thing. Though instead of just before bed and during the night I drink 2 glasses after I exercise as well.0 -
What kind of job doesn't allow you to take a drink during your shift? I would have 1 glass when I woke up, 1 more before I left for work,1or2 at lunch, 1 when I got home from work 1 or 2 with dinner and 1 or 2 while relaxing in the evening, I would also drink 2 or 3 during exercise that will get you there good luck I know I feel better if I get my water in plus some0

i dont have a problem getting my water in, usually, except lately, but i guess i am in a rut. i find if i always carry a bottle with me in the car, it helps. and since tilting my head back while driving isn't really a great idea, i have found a good place to chug some water is at red lights. it gives me a good chance to drink a few gulps. by the time i get back from a local store, i have pretty much finished the bottle. while this won't get you 8 glasses a day (unless you work really far from home, i guess) it should help a little bit. one tip here, one tip there all adds up.
good luck...0 -

Interesting, however I drink at least 16 to 20 oz driving to and from work, then 16 oz before bed. Rising and Resting it is warmer water, to relax the body internally.0 -
umm, are these 8 hour work days? and do you have a lunch break? I drink about 1-2 bottles just from the time I get up and leave the house to do whatever for the day. then you could have 1-2servings (8oz) each at lunch. then drink the rest at night or during your workout.0

I bought a 4 cup reusable water bottle at Target. Fill it twice a day, you're golden!0

I drink a 1 liter water bottle throughout the day. which equal 4 glasses. and another one during my workouts. that makes 8 glasses.0

my sentiments exactly, I speak your language of sarcasm fluently.0 -

was thinking the same thing!!
I am able to drink/eat when I need to at work, I drink 2-4 30oz bottles a day 2 minimum 4-5 maximum if its very hot or if I work out that day. I hope you can figure it out, having some in the am and on the way to and from work sounds good.0 -
One first thing in the morning... and every time I go to the bathroom I try to drink a cup... which creates a vicious cycle0

I have a 24 oz. cup with a straw. This is 3 glasses right there, but I usually count it as 2.5 because I can never fill it ALL the way to the top. Also, if I want to put ice in it... well, you know.
So driving to and from work I just sip it as I'm driving, no problem tipping my head all the way back. I always have this cup with me. I've found I even take it to my friend's house where I know she has glasses, and bottled water too! Too funny.
In any case, I usually end up drinking the whole thing while I'm in bed supposedly sleeping. So I definitely get in all my water.0 -
I thought it would be so hard because some days I used to go without drinking any water at all (awful, I know), but I've found it to be the easiest thing to do.
I have a liter bottle that I've kept from Fiji and every morning I fill it up, and usually finish it during and after what i do in the morning, and the remaining liter I just drink from whenever I'm thirsty, fighting the temptation to fill the thirst with a soda.0 -
I drink six glasses from the time I get up until I go to the gym, then I drink 4-8 glasses when I go to my workout at the gym, 3 more in the afternoon, before dinner, and two at and after dinner. I don't work so I dont have the problem you do.0

I drink it as coffee, water, milk, and other beverages. I am not on the eight glasses of water train, and I don't believe it all has to be simply water.
So, 32oz of coffee - that's 4 right there, water during the day, and another glass at night. That's enough for me.0 -
I know how the OP feels on this one on my work days. I work as a floor RN on a busy cardiac unit, no drinking allowed except in designated area... and when you are constantly trying to meet EVERYONE ELSE'S needs that you are caring for, 10 hours will go by before you even have a chance to gulp something really quick!
Just try to drink as much as you can before and after on the drive and during lunch breaks0 -
I just always have a bottle of water with me everywhere I go. I buy multipacks of bottled water every week.0
-
I drink two 32oz power-aid zeros at my desk!0

i have one of those tall plastic cups that has the screw lid and hard plastic straw ( bpa free ;-) ) and i just fill it with ice and drink.
if i wasn't allowed to drink water at work, i would try and drink as much as i could before and after work i suppose...0 -
I get an ice tea at a fast food place, keep it full of water with lemon, refill often drink as much as I can stand when I get a chance to drink. If you get breaks , try squeezing a quick drink in , even if you have to chug 8oz, it really isn't that much, I like knowing how much is in my cup so I can keep track0
-
I usually only get about 4 to 5 classes in during the day. I am not much of a water fan. I am also not allowed to have a cup setting anywhere at work so I have to get a new plastic cup each time I want more to drink. I have real objections to throwing away so much extra plastic. I just try to drink in the morning and noon then after work.0
