I'm in! I definitely need some motivation/encouragement/the occasional kick up the bum.

I finished L1D4 today so I'm slightly ahead. My legs were in sooooo much pain for the first 3 days but after this morning's workout I can actually bend my knees when walking and it's not such a drama sitting down and standing up

Totally agree with Namibian Rose - jumping jacks and jumping rope in the same 2 minutes are a killer. Why, Jillian, WHY?

I can't face any additional exercise right now but I'm hoping that after the first week I'll have enough energy to start adding extra cardio - C25k, Zumba, swimming, tennis.

Enjoy the rest of your week, can't wait to hear how everyone's getting on!

I've decided to cut back some of my cardio for the first week, after the first few days it seemed like a good idea, but I'm not really feeling sore today, so might end up adding it back in. I definitely need to bump up my hand weights though. Scared to do it, but need to.

Ok...is it just me, or has anyone else seen an increase in the scale since starting? I weighed in this morning and I'm up .8lbs since starting 30DS, I knew to expect this since the scale went up last time I started 30DS as well, just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat.

I'm on Day 3 of Level 3. It's a butt-kicker, and it's fantastic! Best of luck to everyone.
  • Hi all, I finished day 4 today. My legs were feeling better although I agree that the jumping Jack and rope is too much. I still cannot do both. I also noticed from the day I started til day 3 I gained a pound. Today it was back down. I really hope I see a difference in myself.

LOL, ditto! Thrilled to have made it through the first 5 days, am soooo looking forward to getting the next 5 out of the way and moving on to L2 :)

I dropped a pound last week while I was ill but since starting 30DS I've gained it back again. I've heard a few people say they gain weight to start with but you notice inch loss and better tone within the first couple of weeks which I guess it what it's really all about.

    How's everyone else doing?

The video moves alot faster if you mute JM or add subtitles and then put your own music on the stereo.

That is a fantastic idea, will definitely try it tomorrow. It'll save me screaming obscenities at Jillian :)

Finished L1 D6, ugh, I'm so disappointed! I noticed that my right knee was feeling a little...hurt I guess? I noticed it during the first circuit but was able to get into deep squats without feeling anything, I felt it once then nothing. Until lunges. Noticed on my first lunge that I needed to modify my lunges, also modified the side lunges. I will tell you what, modifying and holding back when you feel fit enough and energetic enough to dig deep is so much harder than trying to do them completely out of shape LOL I mean mentally I mean.

I'm debating on skipping spin tomorrow. One one hand, spin is as low impact as it gets! But on the other, don't want to work my knee and have to skip my 30ds workout, which to me is my top priority. I'm sir worried! I had to stop 30 ds this past spring due to injury and I do NOT want that to happen again!

Ok, I'm done crying and whinig like a baby lol.

Finished L1 D7 yesterday. Came home straight after work to get it done before meeting some friends! Yay.

Thinking about taking a break today due to my knee still feeling off. I'd rather take one day off than to really hurt myself and have to take several days off! We'll see. I am still debating! I wish I could just listen to my body without the overwhelming feeling of cheating. I feel like I'm cheating myself out of a better body...by taking one day off, sounds logical doesn't it? :-/

Went for about a 45-60 min walk this morning out in the hot weather so did get some very low impact activity in. But how I've been feeling afterwards and the rest of they day is what is bothersome. I keep feeling like I'm twisting my knee? Hard to explain. Anyway. Y'all will have to forgive me if I take an 'off day'.

Highly recommend. The first time I did it, I lost inches immediately. I was working out more too.. Need to start doing that too. Ha.

Great job on pushing through with D7 despite the pain, but you should definitely give yourself a day off for recovery - you need your knees! Do you wear a knee support bandage? That might help if it's a recurring pain.

My PT suggested trying squats instead of the side lunges to help with knee pain! Maybe you could try that instead once you've had a rest day.
