Are pre-workout drinks such as NOX, etc, a good idea to take? Whats the purpose besides performance?

Basically, the point of a pre-workout drink is to give your body energy to get you through the workout.
I know body builders are more prone to using these things, pre-strength session. However, it is not unheard of for people to use them for cardio.
Usually they consist of some type of caffeine as the booster.
Personally I believe that the more natural the substance, if you so choose to use a pre-workout drink, the better off you will be.0 -
Pre work out supps are the best! everyone on my college team swears by them. Gives you energy, focus and great strength. All you will want to do is move weight. You will add weight and reps to every lift. I highly recommend hemo rage black ultra concentrate. Will make you pissed off at the weights, and if your not lifting them. Your pacing around the gym, they call it "stalking your prey"0

I use them before my workouts and I love the energy and focus they give me. And it doesn't last longer than about 2 hours so you aren't all weird feeling all day. Just remember which ever one you choose to take at least one day a week without them and once you finish the container to cycle off for 1-2 weeks because your body gets used to them pretty quickly. O and don't get the brand Jack3d, it has an ingredient in it that is getting banned.0

What brand do you use?0

I use White Flood. The taste took some getting use to, but I don't do use it for the flavors. It gives me the energy I need without feeling jittery or anxious.0

I always take a pre-workout drink. I typically hit the gym later at night, so it gives me that boost and energy that I need after a long day of work. It also helps me to go heavier and longer with my training. I'm currently taking Jack3d, but have taken N.O. Explode and GNC’s AMP. The only thing I recommend is that you don't take it every day. If you are used to caffeine, you should have any issues with a pre-workout supplement.0
