I do not want to eat hamburger helper for supper because of the sodium so, I need a ground burger recipe.

We've added a container of fresh pico de gallo and some spices. We use romaine lettuce leaves as tortillas and then add a little cheese. YUM!!0

You could do Korean lettuce-leaf wraps, season the beef with simply sea salt, black pepper, maybe spice it up with sambal oeleck, or sriracha - some green onion for sweet and color... sautee up, fill up some lettuce leaves and wrap.
Serve with some kimchi, fresh soup and salad...

Lately I have been just browning my beef and then throwing whatever mixed veggies I have in the freezer (I particularly like the asian stir fry mixes and mixed peppers/onions) and then a tomato.
For flavor I add a few tablespoons of salsa to taste. I realized lately that it has way less calories and sodium than hamburger helper and has a little bit of nutrients too.
Then I place baby spinach (lettuce would also work but I prefer spinach) on the plate, top that with a serving of brown rice and then place my ground beef/veggie mix over this. I finish off with a sprinkling of cheese.
You could also try a whole grain pasta if you particularly like pasta.0 -
For dinner last night I combined ground beef, half a zucchini, 2 small potatoes, 3 cloves garlic, a bell pepper, and basil in a little bundle of tin foil and cooked it on the grill. It came out about 350 cals a serving for 4 servings but if you use lean beef and take out the potatoes it could be better!0

actually all the hamburger helper is the same spices you should have in your cupboard. invest in seasonings. cumin,chili powder minced onion,seasoned pepper garlic powder Mrs dash flavored seasonings celery seed for example. I always wondered why people waste their money on this product when they can do the same thing by adding their own seasonings that you can use over and over..
I cook the hamburger in onion, green peppers,celery seed lots of chili powder,sometimes a little cumin, a little garden vegetable garlic powder,a little sea salt,seasoned pepper. Drain excess grease add low sodium tomato sauce. simmer in the sauce while pasta or rice is cooking. Mix and simmer all together . You can add a little cheese to it after its done if you like for a different flavor.

First off use Meatloaf mix...(You could make a burger with just this meatloaf mixture) it's great already!
OR
Add:
1 egg per Lb.
Chopped Onions,
Garlic powder
a little bread crumbs
Chopped Mushrooms
Cooking:
Mix and mold into burger shape than press a dent in the center of the burger prior to cooking for more even cooking.
Let the yummy meat cook for about 15mins on the grill or Frying pan (make sure it's not sticking) flip and cook for about another 15 mins...

Buy the leanest meat you can. If you want actual burgers use a sandwich thin for a bun, they are less calories. Use hummus instead of mayo or miracle whip and load it up with things like lettuce and tomato. Fills you up more with the veggies.
I also love the pico de gallo with scrambled burger and a little cheese.
Any meatloaf is good. Just add an egg per pound and any chopped veggies and some bread crumbs. I like to divide it up in a muffin tin to help with portion control, plus it doesn't have to cook as long.0 -
you can throw in a can or 2 of crushed tomatoes garlic onions corn/ whatever your fave veggies are and make soup... maybe brown the meat put it in your crock-pot throw in some chilli powder/cumin/garlic/onions/crushed tomatoes etc set it on low and have dinner ready by the time you get home from work...0

Here is a recipe our family loves. Because I am dieting, I usually skip the bun and cheese and I don't put any parmesan in my burger mixture. The combination of a burger with pesto and salsa on it is amazing.

Salsa Rosa Burgers
1.5 lbs ground beef
(1 ½ t garlic salt, ½ c parmesan cheese)
1 packet Pesto sauce
1 can petite diced tomatoes (I use a can of Rotel)
(2 t olive oil)
(1 t Italian seasoning, 1 t minced garlic)
6-8 oz shredded Mozzarella cheese
8 ct sandwich buns
Mix garlic salt and parmesan cheese into meat. Make patties. Grill, broil or fry to desired doneness, turning once to preserve juice and flavor!
Mix pesto according to pkg instructions.
To make Salsa Rosa: Mix drained tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, dash of salt and Italian seasonings.
Separate buns in half. Place on baking pan. Sprinkle mozzarella on one side of buns. Melt under broiler.
Add patty, spread with pesto and top with salsa.0
