Sugar Intake?

I think I've pretty much aquired a good grasp on this calorie counting, and now I'm starting to take a deeper look into things ... and noticed that my sugar has been WAY over just about every single day. I know that eating ice cream doesn't help (it's my weakness, but I'm really trying to get rid of it ... not helping with these 90 degrees days though).
Besides taking out my ice cream (ahhh!!) what are some things you do to watch how much sugar you're eating throughout the day? Do you count the sugar from fruits?

I always go over on sugars but 90% of the times its because of fruit. I've stopped worrying about it so much when it is natural sugar vs processed sugar. My dad has diabetes and his doctor always told him your body process fruit suagrs faster then processed sugar which is why they are not so bad. I also have issues with ice cream my advice is look for low suagr/no suagr added ice cream or frozen yogurt. Eddy's has some great flavors that come with low sugar ( look for the blue containers). I have also been topping mine with fruit. I tend to have a much smaller portion of ice cream/frozen yogurt and it's been helping train my body to crave fruits as my sweets over processed sugars.0
