I love veggies. Maybe try taking some greens and blending them with water and a banana or two. Usually will just taste like a banana, but you will get your greens.

You can always go and try brussels sprouts. Those things should make you go running back to the other veggies ;)

Honestly, I think if you hate all vegetables it isn't your taste buds that don't like them. I think there is some irrational mental aversion towards vegetables. Its kind of ridiculous to just dislike a whole food group. Isn't kind of weird to hate ALL of them? I figure most of the time people are pressed by reverse psychology from childhood and hate vegetables because they were told they were good and to eat them. I feel like on some level its just your immaturity and rebellion coming through being picky about food.

Its one of my biggest pet peeves. Just eat the ****ing vegetables.

How exactly do you trick yourself into liking a vegetable? I mean...if you don't liket he taste of something because it's something you've forced your mind to believe (due to whatever reason), doesn't it technically become real?

I have that problem with onions. I don't actually hate the taste, but I hate it simply because I KNOW it's an onion and the mere thought of it makes me nauseous. But the end result is the same- I can't eat it because it'll make me sick. So no, it doesn't actually work that way. You can't "just eat the ****ing vegetables."

I have been trying to teach myself to eat a new vegtable a year since I was in my mid twenties. This year is tomatos. Still can't eat them raw.

I think it's ok to only eat a few, the challenge then becomes finding new creative ways to prepare the ones you enjoy.

Personally yogurt and avocado make me gag. Cannot eat them. Maybe next years challenge...

Maybe if you would have read, you would have noticed that I do like a handful of vegetables! I don't hate all veggies! Just most! I did use to eat even more veggies when I was a child and I enjoyed them! But taste buds do change as you get older! Let's not be rude now!

Oh, I wasn't saying you, personally. There are people who are going to read that who just hate all veggies. People post things like this all the time. I was just putting it out there. I usually don't even comment on them. I am just tired of seeing it. If you don't want to eat it, don't eat it. Don't complain about it. I don't like bologna and I am sure there is a bunch of people who don't as well, but there isnt "I don't like bologna" thread every day. Its annoying to read posts about it all the time.

This is my first time ever posting! So I was basically wanting to know what others did that also don't like veggies! I can't explain why I dont like most. I just don't. I'm not sure if it's the awkward crunch that most veggies have or what.

Oh, but you can. I hated avocados... for whatever reason. Then I just made myself eat them even though the texture made me want to vomit. Now, I love avocados. BOOM

    But...why?
Why don't you just find alternatives you actually like?

...I love Avocados, thats why. Why miss out on things you might love because you might have an irrational aversion to them at first? Thats no way to live life, food or sky diving, its the same thing.

I was the same, spent 35 years avoiding anything green. Here's the two things I learned:

    1) It's because you're cooking them wrong. No matter how much you hate them, there is a veggie and a cooking method that you will like. You just gotta find it. Put them in curries, steam them, stir fry them in olive oil, put them with other things like nuts or rice. I hated carrots but I found that if I steam them then glaze them in a little brown sugar they're delicious. I hated brussell sprouts but I discovered if you bake them black they taste like fries. I hated brocolli until I figured out how to steam it to perfeciton and now I have it with about every meal.

    2) You'll get used to them. Seriously, all you have to suffer through is those first couple of icky weeks and then they'll just taste normal to you. Within a month they'll taste good. Within two months, you'll be reaching for them without realizing it. So put your head down and forge on through that rough start period. Your body will thank you for it.

I only eat peas and pumkin... cant eat any other veggies...ive tried but i just look like a contestant on fear factor. I chew and chew and just cant get it swallowed!!!! lol

That's how I feel! My face turns red, eyes water, and gag reflex comes on! Atleast I eat some veggies though!

if this happens with only specific veggies, you may have an allergy. my husband is allergic to lettuce, (uncooked) zucchini, cucumbers, raw tomatoes, bananas, melons... basically anything related to the ragweed family (gets an 'itchy' mouth and throat). my youngest son is allergic to (uncooked) carrots, celery, apples and kiwi... basically anything related to the mugwort family (gets a rash all over his head).

for people who hate veggies and don't plan on eating them or those have an allergy, i always recommend purchasing JUICEPLUS GUMMIES. they were a lifesaver when my oldest son had autism and food texture issues. good luck!

Finally a reply that seems helpful and isn't basically judging those who don't or can't eat most veggies!
I went to the dr to have an allergy test after breaking out in hives for no reason many times and also after having some caffeine and all the dr did was give me Zyrtec and send me on my way! - military drs for ya! So no idea what my exact allergies are!
