So I've tried my fitness pal before, and it works, no question about that. I'm having trouble sticking to the plan, though. I can stick to it for like a week or two, then have a bad day and just decide to quit. I need some thing to help me stay on track for the long run. Any ideas or someone willing to help out? I will be attending college full time in the fall and would like to drop the last ten pounds I have been wanting to drop before that time (end of August). I do have a problem though, I have tendonitis in my ankle and have been in a walking cast/boot for the past 2 1/2 months. I am just being allowed to go off it but I still can't do much of anything for cardio. I have exercises from PT to tighten up core muscles and such but I am looking for a way to drop some belly fat and just plain exercises aren't working. So I'm taking any suggestions on that too.

There's no real trick to sticking with it, I don't think. You simply have to decide you will. Success isn't about never falling off the wagon, it's about getting back on it again.

You sound overwhelmed. You need to follow doc's instructions about your ankle, so strenuous exercise is probably just out for you. But you CAN follow the food part, as well as the community part. I find that being active in the community helps me stay involved, even when I do have a few bad days.

I try and keep reminding myself why it is that I set out to lose weight in the first place. If I think I'm about to come off the wagon (which I have done, a lot) I spend a bit of time, looking at the types of physique I'm aiming for. It is difficult though I realise, but hang in there and think about all of the hard work you have undoubtedly put in so far.

I was doig great before I had gone down 40lbs!! Then the holidays came around and I started gaining stopped workingout and all. Ended up gaining bout half of it back. It is hard to jump on the wagon but it has begun slowly. A couple of things to remember:

    1. It takes time - Dont lose paitence you will not lose 10lbs in 1 week instead focust on how you feel as you go.

    2. Pick up a regimen that will work for you and you can stick with - In your case you are restraint to do certain workouts right now do what you can until you are able to pick up cardio again.

    3. Finally never give up - this is the hard one for me when ever something unexpected happens and I eat like crap I would give up eat all the crap I could and call it a day and say Tomorrow is a new day. Not no more I still have my occasional crappy days but I have learned that instead of giving up and making even crappier you need to refocus get up and continue working out that day and dont grab another crappy food.

Always remember sometimes we feel hungry when we really are thirsty. Always try drinking a bottle of water or a cup before and after a meal (If you can squeeze it in) you will get less hungry and be able to stick to your calorie alotment. Hopefully this makes sence. Good luck!

Thanks everyone, just hard to find motivation by myself sometimes. My family isn't supportive in the right way with this stuff. They encourage me to lose weight, but are negative in their approach some times so it's hard to ask for their help. So thanks for the motivation and you're right that success isn't about falling off the wagon. I'm going to log my food tomorrow and we'll see what happens (:
