Hey Guys!
I want to buy a heart rate monitor and am willing to spend around $150. Do you guys have any suggestions for me? I hope you're all doing well today!

    Hi there!

I hear this is a fabulous HRM: Garmin FR70 Fitness Watch with Heart-Rate Monitor (Pink) from http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Fitness-Watch-Heart-Rate-Monitor/dp/B005Y77K7A/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1341056302&sr=8-6&keywords=garmin+HRm

I actually plan to invest in one pretty soon. I hope you find what you're looking for. :-) Take care.

I have a Polar FT4 and am in love with it! Got it for $62 at bodytronics.com; other places its around $90. Haven't had any problems in the six months I've owned it and I use it at least once a day.
  • awesome! I will definitely look into them! I have never owned one yet I think one of my biggest motivators is watching the calories melt away!

If you are willing to spend that amount then look on Amazon for the Polar FT60.

It allows you to enter VO2Max, which will make the calorie estimates a bit more accurate then models that don't use Vo2max.

I have a Polar FT4 and I love it... and it's hot pink, which makes it even better. I got it at a sporting goods store for around $90 but I've heard that you can find them cheaper online (I don't do very well with online shopping, I need instant gratification). It was the best $90 I've ever spent. It helps me give myself an extra push when I can see how many calories I've actually burned. Usually I think I've done more than I actually did so it helps me ensure that I'm getting a good workout.
  • I didn't even know that they made hrms that measured that, haha very interesting!

I got a Polar FT7 2 days ago and found it very difficult to set up. The tiny buttons are almost impossible to use. Now that I have my height, weight, etc., in, maybe it will get easier to use. The jury is still out on this one. More later.
  • thank you guys!
