Just a random pole... how often do you all record your weight?

I don't want to be a hostage to a scale and weight myself daily but is it the norm?

I don't think there is a norm. When i began i weighed myself everyday. That was in jan. Now i weigh about once a week. If im being obsessive I weigh two or three times a week.

Most people do it once a week, usually in the morning. I recommend you pick a day and always do it then.

If you do it every day, the fluctuations due to water retention will just play with your mind!

Weigh yourself whenever you want. You decide, forget about the 'norm'. I weigh myself once a week.

Depends on your thoughts about your weight. If you are going to panic everytime it fluctuates a bit, weigh less often, if you are curious, weigh more often.

I weigh twice a day just because I'm curious how my body works, but I only record the first thing in the morning weigh in.

It is interesting to me that over the course of a day I put on about 3lbs, but come the next morning I'm down 3.5lbs for a net 1/2lbs loss.

Intuitively you'd think you'd lose the weight while active, not while sleeping, but I guess that is how it works

The opposite works for me. If I weighed weekly and happened to catch an "up" day, I think that would play with my mind more! Weighing daily has made me much more relaxed about fluctuations. It's really up to the individual though. OP - if you're worried about being a "slave" to the scale, it sounds like daily weighing is not for you. Weekly, or monthly is fine. You could even forget the scale altogether and just go by measurements and ow well your clothes are fitting.
