I've been doing "You are your own gym" and have gotten great results. Highly recommended if you prefer working out at home. A lot of people think body weight exercises are too limiting, but I'd like to see them do a one arm pullup. (Maybe I'll get there someday) :)

I am not an mma fan but I am enjoying tap out. If you get it get the advanced kit with more bands and the weighted gloves. I finished week 5.

hey, i got suckered into buying P90x and insanity (no regrets, just a sucker for a good sales pitch, just now seems that the videos are a loss-leader for al their other "products")..I am very happy where I am compared with a year and a half ago...I can finally touch my toes..waited till I was 43 to say that! I was a great start for me into the world of fitness!

so i could be convinced to buy any one of a number of these other programs, they all sound good...so i appreciate the comments and welcome more guidance

I have rush fit, it's def nowhere near as intense as insanity but I did notice a difference in my overall strength and muscle tone, although I didnt lose any weight.

Whatever program you go with, I would recommend including yoga as well. It's great for improving posture and flexibility, which can help prevent injuries in other physical activities. I'd recommend taking a few classes with a qualified instructor, as they can help you with proper alignment and with modifying poses if you have any injuries or limitations.

@fransicocabala been looking at trx as well...of course i had to compare to two others, and of couse I couldnt decide...is there really any disadvantage to having a single point attachment, and some claim trx "rubs on their arms"

the other two were lifefitness junglegym xt, and the "human trainer"

    anyone on the DDR yoga?

go with the TRX. i've nothing but positive results with it. its really using to use and setup. i dont see any disadvantage with the single point attachment. and as far as rubbing on arms. if it does rub on your arms it might be cause your setup and technique might be off.

    thanks!

I looked at the junglegym at sports authority the other day, seemed "ok", trx certainly has gotten itself into the market place better, so i would think that the "pros' out there must think their quality is pretty darn good....plus they have a lot more available dvd programs (not that i couldnt use them with another suspension trainer)...

my issue is that my workout area is my basement, we have 7ft clearence to the bottom of the cross beams, is that going to be the right height?

this has also limited my ability to put in a pull/chin up bar, any advice there...
