So.. i have a little kid birthday party to go to tonight for my cute adorable nephew. There is going to be pizza, cookies, cake and icecream... you know all the stuff we all have a love hate relationship with  Well I was wondering what ideas you guys had for avoiding eating that stuff or at least not eating to much of it tonight. Let me know so i dont end up gaining any unneeded yuckiness

Gonna be grown'ups at this shindig, or do these little kids drive? :-)

Make a big veggie tray for you and the rest of the Gr-ups, celery/carrots/broccoli/cauliflower gathered around a bowl o'light ranch dressing. You feast on that - and have a nibble of the 'za and the birthday cake and the et cetera.

And have fun! How old is the little curtain climber?

Eat a healthy meal before going, and drink plenty of water before and during the party.

Eat before you go, something with alot of fiber, maybe a salad, so you dont get really hungry.
Maybe bring something yummy, like a low calorie cookie or maybe a granola bar, so you have something to satisfy your sweet tooth if things get too tempting and you wont end up feeling too guilty. :)

I have a party to go to tonight as well, and i plan on eating a big spinach salad and some almonds, to fill me up. Water also fills me up great!

    have fun!

I have to agree with Casper on this. Are you dieting or changing the way you eat. A diet is restrictive but changing the way you eat allows for these occasions. Work out extra so you have some room for calories. Eat some of the stuff that is there and feast on veggies.

Then tomorrow you exercise again and eat very well. It all works out

Oh yeah,,, if you fill your belly with lintels and grass clippings and then go to this party and stand around watching everybody else feast on pizza and birthday cake, then you'll be miserable. I try to avoid misery, it sux.

And besides, it's the kid's birthday. I wouldn't want a grumpy ticked off aunt at my birthday party.

Eat at the party, but take something good to eat. And taste the cake & pizza, they're good, which is why we bake them. :-)

I'm a cool fun aunt  But i'm scared if i'll just have one piece i'll end up eating like 3 haha i always do that. Hows it go? "Once you pop you just cant stop".. well thats how i feel about most good food not just about pringles

Ah,,, there's the rub. That's why you take your veggie tray - and hit it hard. You are physically incapable of eating more than a couple hundred calories worth of cucumbers. You just can't do it, your tummy ain't that big. So knock out most of your appetite on stuff that can't hurt you, and then it's way easier to stop after a nice taste of the goodies.

How old is the ankle biter?

Yeah, casper's really right on this one. Enjoy a little but eat those veggies.

If it helps, I plan out ahead of time. If you know its pizza and cake, log some generics into MFP and look how much you will eat and stick to it later. If you decide the portions won't satisfy you, work out a bit this afternoon to create the calorie space.

Have a piece of cake, enjoy every bite, and revel even more in the fact that you're being so good that you can dessert and still stay on track!!

And should you go 150 over tonight, work it off when you get home or leave 150 tomorrow! :drinker:

so i have a plan! I went to the store and bought the S. F 150 calorie Choc. chip muffins that i love ( BUTTERFLY BAKERY, go by them they are soooo good and guilt free) haha so i'm gonna bring one of those to the party so i'll eat that instead of cake and then i'm going to eat a Healthy Choice meal (Pumpkin raviolio! Try it sooo yummy the best frozen dinner ever!) before hand so i wont be hungry for pizza !
