I joined this site a few days ago, well i decided to weigh myself today and my numbers went up!!! but im burning more calories exercising than im taking in. In 3 days i have burned over 5000 calories and according to the chart i only need to burn 740 a week. I have been feeling a lot better i have a shirt that fits better now than two weeks ago Is this normal the scale goes up before down. New to dieting i have been the same weight for 3 years even durning a pregnancy i only gained 17 lbs and lost it..

Hi
Are you sure you burned 5000 in 3 days?
That's 1700 a day. WOW!
How much did you gain and could it be new muscle weight?0 -
I think the really important thing here is your comment that you are feeling much better and your shirt fits much better. With the combination of exercise and calorie watching you will both, over the long run, lose weight but you will also, more importantly tone up as you lose body fat and increase muscle mass. By volume muscle weighs more than fat, so weight gain can sometimes be explained by that. Also don't weigh yourself right after exercising you'll be full of water in your muscles and your weight will be up. Stay the course, the weight will come down, but you've already seen some very important results. Good on you.0

I've also heard that the calorie loss tracking on this site is high. Glad you're feeling better, that's what it's all about anyway.! Have a great week end.0

What the scale says shouldn't matter if your clothes are fitting better. Weight also fluctuates due to water intake and certain foods. I wouldnt worry. You're doing great. You may also be building muscle. Good Job!0
