The fat burning zone is a bit of a myth. Work at whatever pace allows you to keep going. They all burn fat.

Zone training all depends on your age. Zone 2 seems like fat burn and Zone 3 seems like cardio. Incidentally, you burn as much or more fat during cardio as you do during fat burn. So, if Zone 3 feels good to you and you can keep that pace, don't worry about going less intense.

I worried about this in the beginning then ignored it and just worked as hard as I could and my results have been fine. If you are pushing yourself you will see results. You could read up on hiit though to find a method of training that is supposed to be very effective.

I think the zone this is really old. They used to say at 80-85% your MHR for at least 30 minutes would burn fat. Recent studies have shown that hitting the cardio for 10-15 minutes at the start to work out for a warm up then doing weight training and ending back with cardio is most effective. I like Plyometrics best. Plyometrics, help you burn more calories after you are done working out. That I think is the key. Good luck!
