Powdered Egg Whites - taste/texture - advice?

Hello All!
Posting this out there to see if anyone has any advice. I'm going to be staying with my in-laws for a few days, and I don't want to risk them thinking I'm wasteful by throwing away a bunch of egg yolks when we have b-fast. I normally have 1 egg and 3 whites for b-fast.
Considering getting a container of powdered egg whites - and then using one real egg with the powdered whites reconstituted.
I'm not sure about taste - but thought if i mixed them with my normal 1 full egg, it might be ok.
Before I spend the money on this though, let me know your thoughts? also, I've heard some of the powdered whites have additives for people wanting to use them for baking - thoughts on those as well?
thank you!
Tina

Powdered egg whites are great to have on hand for baking but I would never recommend just mixing them up to try to cook and eat since they just don't act the same. If you just want straight egg whites to eat pick up a carton of 100% egg whites from a grocery store. They are just want they sound like, a carton of just egg whites with nothing else added. You can cook them the same as any scrambled egg.0

LOL - well I do love my in-laws - I just don't know if they'd understand about wasting the eggs. Just trying to avoid any uncomfortable situations..0

Why not just eat two whole eggs for a few days?0

Why not just eat two whole eggs for a few days?
I thought about it, and my concern is that I'll start to like them better and not want to switch back. I know it sounds silly. I'm just trying to stack the odds in my favor. I may just do that though, since it's only for a number of days, and I'm sure we won't have eggs EVERY day.0 -
take ur own eggs0

I don't think it sounds silly :P but to be honest, I don't know why not switching back would be so bad. There is only a 20-25 calorie difference between two whole eggs vs. one whole + three whites, and most of the nutrition in eggs is in the yolks. Plus you'd be using two less eggs per day -- I am sure that would add up on the grocery bill.0
