I know how important water is to weight loss...but honestly I gag at the thought of water. So I found a couple of different waters..one is Fruit-2-0 it is actually pretty good. Another is a one I'm very unsure of a sams flavored water in which I think has carbonation.....does anyone know anything about flavored waters...or is it possible to drink crystal light with the same benifits as plain water or any of these other drinks (water) I have labeled. I don't mean to sound dumb about this...but if drinking the falvored water isn't helping..I'll some how force myself to drink plain water:angry:

I'm not a nutritionist or anything, but in my opinion if you're basically just drinking flavored water (maybe with vitamins added) - whether it's bottled or you mix it up like crystal light, it still counts as water. Make sure you're drinking kinds that don't have added sugars, or the sugar content is really low. (So you wouldn't want to be drinking kool-aid! ) Carbonated water would still count as water - but I would stay away from it if I were you because carbonation is not good for us.

I used to be like you with the water making me gag. But honestly, after a couple of weeks of weening myself from the flavored waters and soda I didn't really miss them. I will still grab for one if I am craving something sweet but don't want to waste the calories on sugary snacks.

Have you just tried adding lemon to your water? It adds flavor without all the artifical junk (sugars, dyes, preservatives)

The thing with flavored water is I think it all has citric acid in it. Hello cavities, goodbye teeth! :ohwell:
  • I swear by drink packets! My favorites are raspberry lemonade propel and grape propel. It's only 20 calories and it's the reason I get 5 bottles of water a day.

I LOVE water, so I don't have that problem, but one thing that I do is use the Crystal Light Energy to add a little caffeine (I'm giving up Coke completely and I still get a little withdraw headache sometime) ... I have always been told its pretty much the "same" as drinking water... you are still getting the same benefit, but I am no expert, so I don't know 100% one way or the other....

as long as your careful about the added calories and sugar, then i wouldn't worry too much about it.

the one thing i would most definitely stay away from is anything carbonated.

Here's a bit of science 101 as to why carbonation is bad for you:
Carbonated drinks are highly acidic so in order to neutralize the acidity, it leaches the calcium out of your bones. this is what causes brittle bones.

moral of the story, carbonated drinks should be had sparingly or not at all.
