...when it comes to weight loss?

I'm having a tough time slimming down my lower half. My upper body is losing weight nicely, but once I get to my lower ab area, it stops. I squat, I lunge, I run; if I keep it up I'm gonna look like a centaur!

Is anyone in the same boat?

for me ,my lower half only slims down if i lose fat!ie body fat percent has to get low.No squats/lunges etc ever helped,i just concentrate on fat loss and do some mat work and cable work on my legs and a lot of walking and biking.

I am a very proud pear shaped lady but yeah...the uh...fatty thighs do tend to get a tad annoying in this heat lol

I struggle mainly with my thighs, I love having big hips and a big butt but the thighs really need to slim down. It's mainly the inner thigh I have a problem with. The front of my thighs and the back tend to tone quicker than the inside :/

I first lose weight on my face which is really annoying because my parents keep saying I look ill :P
  • All the same as above but I also put on muscle like nobody's business. As a marathon runner I have just come to terms with my large legs and hips/ butt area. At least now they are large and toned instead of large and flabby. My shape will always essentially be a pear, I just have to work with what God gave me and not envy different body types because I will never wake up with long lean legs. Hope that helps...
At least the muscular body type is starting to become more accepted/ attractive in society :)

running has always been my magic to slimming down my lower half...when i was training for my half marathon i was the fittest i've ever been...my entire bottom half was toned which made me look thinner and i loved it :) i hope to get back there eventually :)

I agree, running definitely helps, and I really enjoy it. I gain muscle pretty easily, and that helps me as a runner in terms of speed. I too know I will never have long sleek legs (well, they're long, but not exactly sleek), and that's ok!

I really, really like my pear shape; tons of curves! I wouldn't have it any other way. But sometimes I would like to put on a pair of pants without a two-inch gap in the back, and see the muscles in my legs. I still need to shake off about 30 to 35 pounds so in due time.

Ohh, the gap in the back! I was just complaining about this today, lol. The ONLY type of jeans that fit me are True Religion. I splurged on a new pair (waited out a good sale at Off Saks). Today I put them on, and they are too big - which makes me both happy, and enraged! I wish so much that I could walk in to a TJ Maxx or GAP, and pick up a pair of jeans for 40 bucks :(

Does anyone know of another brand that is nice quality and fits like TR, but not for $300??

Any time I need to dress my bottom half (pants, dresses), I find I have to spend way too much to get the right fit. I envy girls that can look fabulous in a dress from Target or F21.... not me.

I don't hate my body, just wish it were easier to dress it!
