I know that this has not got anything to do with losing weight so am hoping that it's ok for me to post.
I have not had a normal period since May, finally went to the doctors and had a blood test last week and the results were that I am not pregnant but have low estrogen levels and they think that it is my pituitary gland failing so they did another range of blood tests and I should have those results back next week. They sent me to the optometrist and the results were that it's not affecting my vision but I do need glasses again and I have also been sent to go and have an MRI done next week so am a little bit worried but am trying not to stress and just wanted a little bit of support.

Hang in there! It's sucks being female at times. I had to deal with really, really, really heavy periods and tired lots of things to fix it. We tried the mirena which I had a totally adverse effect to, birth control pills that did nothing, and finally an ablation. For the first time in years I had no period this month. It was so nice not to bleed to death! I also found out a few years back I have an eye condition called keratoconus. It causes dry eyes, along with all sorts of other great stuff, not to mention my horrible astigmatisms! Of course the period and eye site is not related for me but a stressor none the less. Somewhere along the line you have to find a bright side. Think about what a worse possibility could be and grab hold of the fact that you don't have that. I find that by looking for the bright side, it makes the dark side easier to handle. I dealt with losing my Dad to Cancer in a 3 month window and in the mean while hubby lose t his job. This was 2 years ago. I refused to let it ruin me and take me to that dark place. I survived it and am better and stronger because of it!!! Hang in there! Things will brighten up! You can make them do it!!0

i have a couple of friends that have had same situation and with doctors help, everything is fine. all of our bodies are unique and may have a few hiccups from time to time....me -- i have a major thyroid problem. inhibits just about every hormonal function, which includes METABOLISM! it sucks but i keep up with it, monitor with proper combo of doctor/meds and keep going. life is short, just try and make the best of whatever situation comes about. i know u will be just fine!0

I am sure all will be ok and don't be afraid to ask the professionals lots of questions!
Good luck with all the tests.

Not knowing is the worst part but dont give up! Stay persistent and the doctors will help you0
-
Thank you, this is why I love all my My Fitness Pal friends because you all help me to understand things better and I guess the good thing at the moment about all of this is that as far as I know my ovaries are fine so I guess that's just the silver lining for the moment, will keep you all updated and I have been researching a little bit and plan on asking as many questions as I can to help me understand why this is happening to me.0

Waiting for tests and results is no fun at all (been there, done that). Try to keep yourself busy with other things and not to worry too much until you know if there's actually anything to worry about. I know it's easier said than done, but try! If they find something they can fix, things might even get better than it was before. You'll get through this! * Hugs *0

My Pituitary Gland is releasing pregnancy hormones even though I am not pregnant which means that I am showing signs of being pregnant, it is a benign tumor and I have an MRI this week to see how big it is. Am nervous and a little bit scared and apparently most people who go through this never get diagnosed so I am glad that I will be taking medication for it and hopefully won't have to go through surgery.0
-
HUGS! at least you are getting answers. Sending no surgery vibes to you!0
-
Hang in there and keep us posted. Sorry you're going through this! HUGS :flowerforyou:0

Had a good day today, spent the day in Dubbo for an MRI so should get those results next week. Fingers crossed the results are good.
Thank you so much for all of your support and will definitely keep you all updated.0 -
Got the MRI results back and there is no abnormal growth on my pituitary gland so have an appointment in December with a specialist for hormones. So now just have to wait it out and deal with my pregnancy symptoms.0

SOOO glad there's no growth!! THAT is good news!0

Was told by my doctor on Monday that I probably wouldn't get my period but I have had a bit of blood on and off since Tuesday night, early Wednesday, Wednesday night, Thursday Morning and now it's barely there and I'm not having any pain or cramps or anything so don't know what I should do.She also said to go and see her if I had any questions or problems.0

Just an update on my hormone situation, I am all good, I have some signs of mosaic Turners Syndrome but nothing that should affect my chances of having kids. It was apparently caused by my birth control pill which I want to come off now but am being told no by a few people (not my boyfriend).0
-
Can i ask have you been told that you have got mosaic turners syndrome? I do have it and I have been told that I can not have children unless I have IVF and I will have to have egg donation.0
-
I was told that I have some signs of Mosaic Turners Syndrome but they said that it should not affect my chances of having kids (fingers crossed), I came off the pill and was then advised by my doctor to get the Implanon so I did in March, I am worried about never been able to have kids but wont be able to find out until my boyfriend is ready to try and he is the reason that I'm on the Implanon because he isn't ready for kids. The one thing in life that I want the most is kids and it scares me to think that I might never be able to conceive naturally and I can't talk to anyone about it for fear that I might be told that I am been silly.0
-
Your not being silly, I know how you feel. I have always wanted kids since i was young. I wanted to get married, buy a house n have 2-3 kiddies. I was told i had turners when i was 27 after years of trying to find out what was wrong with me. i had to change my doctor to get results. (long story but ended up suing my original doctor) Being told at 27 that i had turners and would not be able to have my own children naturally or use my own eggs was heart breaking. my world fell apart and no one understood how i felt.
The worst is when u see others popping kids out like there's no tomorrow and you cant help but feel sad.
Keep strong and know that your not alone out there.. If you cant conceive naturally it will be hard for you at first but once you get that shock over and come to terms with it you will see that at least there are other ways to have kids, i have to be strong too and believe that once this weight has gone i will get to have my own child, might not be my egg but it will still be my baby and thats all that matters.0 -
A lot of girls my age and most of my old friends all seem to be popping out babies so it hurts already even if my boyfriend and I are not even trying because there were times when we had unprotected sex and I never fell pregnant and it seems so easy for other people and I wanted it to be easy for me, my boyfriend always changes his mind, one day he will say that he doesn't want kids, the day he says that he does but not until he is thirty but I hope he is joking because I want to be a young mum, I ant to be able to run around after them so I don't know how to explain it all to him.0
-
Yeah, I am 31 now, I wish that I had met my husband years ago and found out what was wrong with me sooner so that I could have started this weight loss journey then and been a young mum, I know how it hurts when ur friends all have kids, I only know 1 friend who hasn't got one yet but she is now having to go into the adoption route because she has had 2 failed attempts at IVF and they had bad effects on her body and mind.
My husband always said from the start that he wanted kids and I was straight with him that it would be a problem but that I wanted them too. Its not really fair of your bf to not give you a proper answer as you know you want them and if he doesn't then you will have to decide if you can give up being a mother for him or if you need to find someone else who is wanting them to.
You never know he might just be scared about becoming a father.
Have you been with him long?0 -
That must suck, at least he is straight up about wanting kids, I just wish that my boyfriend would give me a straight answer so that I can work out everything now, he is only 18 and I will be 21 in October and we have been together for 4 years so it's a long time and at the moment I am just waiting for him to figure things out, He could be scared but it's not as if I want to start trying today or even this year but I need to know how he feels.0
