"if you still look cute at the end of your workout, then you didn't work hard enough!"
"stop admiring other people's bodies and make other people admire yours"
"The only thing separating your desires from reality... is your b*tch *kitten*, now MOVE"
"When you think about giving up, imagine where you'd be in six months if you didn't. Still want to give up?"
"You're only young once so you might as well look as hot as you can"

No sayings, only maths. I can do 2k on a rower easy as hell. So when I did 12k, it was a constant divvying up of the remaining distance. Saw it as a set of 2's, 1/3rd way through, 5k left - done that before so why not again and now? Etc etc etc.

And then the last 2k is purely "It is nearly over, get it done quick and then you can sprawl on the floor whimpering like a broken woman!!!" and I end up putting in PB's!

lol I do this too! especially with swimming. I break it up into hundreds or fifties. :)

I stole this from Jason Ellis: 'Harden the f**k up!' I say this every time that I want to quit, still have 5 miles to go, 10 minutes left or one more segment to go. It's crude, but I push through it. :embarassed:

An adaptation of the Bene Gesserit saying:

    I must not fear pain.
    Fear is the fat-keeper.
Fear is the little-death that stops fat obliteration.
    I will face my pain.
I will permit pain to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will burn the inner fat to reveal myself.
When the fat has gone I will see muscle.
    Only I will remain.

When I am on one of my runs and I begin to get tired and wanting to stop, I tell myself "If you stop now, you just wasted that whole first part of your run." It helps me stay on track mentally.

    "If it's burning, it's working!"
"Anyone can push until it gets hard, it's the ones that push beyond it that get results"
"Pain is temporary, quitting is forever"
    "Effort in, results out!"
"Short term pain, long term gain"
"You are an athlete, train like an athlete!"

These are just a few of the ones I use to motivate my cycling and weight lifting classes. I also tell my class to "find your edge, and push the limits". Just for fun, "the bigger the gear, the cuter your rear":)

I'm interested in hearing what other people use. I feel like I say the same stuff over and over.

Yep, I'd never have enough guts to post this - but I love it! Dune is my "go-to" sleeper...I put it on when I really need to get to sleep. I've seen it so many times....

    I constantly tell myself....

    "This is making you awesome."

When I was dieting (very low cal) I used the "nothing tastes as good as <insert whatever> (fit, ripped, skinny) feels."

    oooh... I have several!

Bob Harper (don't remember the name of the actual person he was talking to) - "Then do it (insert name). Stop saying words. Quit talking! Im sick of words, words, words, talk, talk, talk. Shut the ***k up and DO it!"

Get up and finish what you started!

You have no idea what you are capable of until you try.

Just because you're not good at something, doesn't mean you can't do it.

Your mind will quit a thousand times before your body will. Feel the fear and do it anyway!

Sometimes you just have to pull up your big girl panties and do it whether you want to or not.

Jillian Michaels (I use this one a lot) - "Unless you puke, faint, or die....KEEP GOING!"
