I've seen a lot of posts on here regarding "how often do you weigh" or "how ofter should I weigh". My personal opinion is no more than once a month. However, I know many people, men and women, will weigh daily or sometimes several times daily. Just as you can develop an unhealthy relationship with food, you can do the same with the scale. Many people will allow the number on the scale to determine their mood for the day. This will happen even if they feel great and their clothes are fitting better than they ever have. Here is a great article on why you should ditch the scale.

The article is mostly written for women, but I think the concept applies for everyone. The article is long, but worth reading. Here is the conclusion:
Nia Shanks is someone I would definitely recommend for the women to follow.

Here’s Your New “Scale”
Some people may wonder how they can accurately track their progress if they’re being told to put the scale away and not track body fat percentage. There are several other indicators you can track that are, in my opinion, more accurate and don’t fluctuate nearly as much on a daily basis as your bodyweight.
Use the following tools as your new “scale”:
-How you look in the mirror
-How your clothes fit
-How you feel. Do you feel strong and healthy? Do you feel better than ever? Do you have more energy? Are you performing well in the gym, or other activities? Do you find daily tasks easier?
-Focus on your actions. Are you eating well? Are you training consistently? Are your actions in line with your goals?
-Keep track of a few measurements like waist, hips, thighs, and arms. I recommend having the same person measure you, and take note of how you stand, time of day (preferably first thing in the morning), etc. You want everything to be the same each time. And, ladies, I suggest not doing this around your menstrual cycle.
Nia Shanks is someone I would definitely recommend for the women to follow.

It's definitely a hard habit to break, but so are most bad ones, right?0

I was getting obsessive with it, weighing several times a day. I must say I lost 22 lbs pretty dang fast so it felt good. But then the disappointment when nothing was happening for two months. I tucked the scale away. I'm not weighing for another 4 weeks, I gave myself 1.5 month break from the scale. I just feel better and am doing what I am doing, working out hard daily and I feel good and that's what matters. I don't like the mood up and downs from the scale not budging, so I'm better off not looking at it!0

Have to say no number on the scale has made me feel as good as 4 different people at work telling me I was looking really good today0
