Hey everyone!!! My name is Heather and this is my first time on here today. Little bit of background: I started a life style change about a year ago and my weight at that time was 250 and I'm now down to 175 (YAY ME!!) I just joined the YMCA with my family and today was the first day of exercise on an Elliptical. I did 30min and it was a breeze once I got the hang of it (Octane XR6000) the one with the seat, I need to start out easy because I have Fibro. and some other issues with my back hence I use the seat one. So I signed up here today cause I;m hitting a stalemate so i thought it would help finding friends on here and the more motivation the better, I'd like to be @ 140..my range is 150-120....so I picked the middle. So please feel free to reply and together we cange hit our goals!!!! Thanks for reading and looking forward to talking with everyone!!!

The way i add people is to click the link on their username under thier pic. Then that takes you to their profile which has a button to add them as a friend. I added you and a few others from this thread. People are super nice and supportive on this website. I love it! And people please feel free to add me. The more support the better. I am always happy for another friend!

Welcome. If you stick with My Fitness Pal, you'll find that it's really simple. I've found that a rock gets more exercise than I do, and I've lost 27 pounds in 9 weeks now.
To add someone as a Friend, just click on their pic or name, and if their profile pops up, there will be an Icon that will display "Add as Friend".
    Good luck and stay motivated!!

Wow! 75 lbs! Great job! Friend me, I'd love to stay in touch. I'm older and don't have much to lose but it's soo much harder when you are mature and close to your goal. I measure every 10th of a pound as a victory. I am looking for people who are wanting to be really active on the site to keep me honed in. Oh, btw, Welcome!
  • Welcome to the site. I have been on for about 45 days and I find the support here wonderful. I have lost 20 pounds so far and I love the encouragement that I get from everyone.

Love this machine. I do intervals for 50-60 min and it says I burn 1000-1200 calories spanning 11-13mi +/- depending on my settings and energy for that day. I weigh 217 right now vs 214 (grrr) and I am 6'2" so don't freak about my lofty female stats;) I usually do an avg speed of 77-90...I should slow down during rest interval level 7 but need to talk to my personal trainer and finally splurge for a iwatch or the fit bit that can go in the pool for those cross training workouts & PT as I need to get a handle on maximizing my aerobic & evaluating my anerobic HR etc.

I was pre-360 spinal fusion and TKR and used it per above for two years. Post surgery (both within 6mo & 1yr recovery each) I hopped on this asap as the most comfortable.

I constantly adjust the seat, never use the handles (I hard lift days btwn cardio so my arms need rest). I also adjust resistance if my intervals are off a bit per energy plus I don't look down and move my feet everywhere like dancing to work my neuro coordination and work the little muscles vs just the big/primary.

Friend me!!! I will let u know what my trainer, new watch and sports nutritionist say!
