I will be glad when I stop only taking pics from the neck up. I wonder what weight that will be for me. I actually just recently felt okay with face pics, now that I think about it.lol. At what weight did you feel comfortable taking pics including the neck down? Where are all my Neck Up Honeys and Pals??? lol

Am I the only one who feels this way or has this problem? Here's to the Neck down :drinker:

always took full body shots at whatever weight i was and posted many of them to my FB page. i've always been confident even when i wasn't pleased with my weight, but fully understand your position.

I took the full body shots but haven't posted them anywhere yet. I made a promise to myself that I will post them on here with my "during" pics when I hit 199 on the scale for 2 days in a row. I probably won't be completely comfortable posting them but I do feel that looking at other people's pics is a great motivator for me and hopefully I can motivate someone with my pics. That being said, I do think face pictures are an excellent way to see the weight loss change in someone. If you look at people who are now maintaining their weight loss, you can tell that everyone looks younger in their after pictures.

  • I felt comfortable with it when I weighed between 120-125. And even STILL I hate it. I'm just not a picture person in general. lol

I have one pic on my page that is full body but it is kinda small. I take the face pics too because I have a relatively skinny face lol1

With the other poster who said I'll post my "worst" pictures when I have something better, like 199... :) Then my ultimate goal pictures I'll do a success story. Looking forward to that time!!

To the neck down! lol... :drinker:

I don't think I've ever really been self conscious about getting body shots taken. Which turned out to be a good thing, because I now use those photos as motivation to stick to my weight loss plan.

I always take neck up only shots. I don't know when I'll feel comfortable taking pics with my whole body in them, but I'm excited for it to happen. I've never been confident, I've never liked the way I looked. And I've been overweight since I was 8 years old. I don't think it will be that long though, honestly. I think I'll be so happy/proud of my progress that I'll take pictures just to show off, even if I'm not happy with my weight yet.
  • It just depends on when you feel comfortable doing it.
When I lost about 30 lbs I could see a huge difference so I started posting pictures on my FB too. LOL....
Now I take pictures with every 10 lbs that I lose and it's incredible what a difference 10 lbs makes. And how motivated it
    makes you.
We are all in the same boat here, we all like pictures it's motivating to everyone!!! Keep up the good work and post some pics girl...

Yep, I have a couple too that are strictly to keep me motivated and for the purpose of showing how far I've come with during pics and after pics.

all mine are from the neck up....I dont even look at me from the neck down.

one day, when my clavicle bone appears and my thighs stop rubbing together, I will post a pic with all of me! ;)

And once you start taking pics from the neck down you can start adding up the strikes you'll receive until you're banned. Hell of a fitness website we've got here, huh?

Agreed. Youll just have to start taking pics in a speedo since that is swimwear and not against guidelines. If womens bikinis are ok so are mens, otherwise its discrimination.

Not that I want to see anyone in a speedo

Well your Magic Mike posts were sizzling ... mods must have missed those (Thank God for small favors)! I don't get why certain pictures are banned. Like you said, this is a fitness site and people are proud to show off those hot bods that they worked so hard to get. I can understand if you're totally naked, but most of the ones that get banned aren't even close. I'm surprised mine hasn't got a strike yet .. just wait until my next one .. lol. Oh, and hope to meet you and your hot girlfriend at the zombie run - I'll be there volunteering in September!

Someone had a great idea to set up a FB account with just MFP friends on there - post all the pics you like on there .. lol.

Yeah, i think before and afters are great motivators. Even though I probably wont be comfortable til 170ish. I think If my results are good enough, I will post during pics at around 185. Maybe.lol

Wow, I wish I hadn't missed that exchange. Good luck with your photos. There are some great face change threads in the success stories forum.

Never liked my picture taken and only ever took pics from neck up so people knew who they were talking to. it's a rare occasion for people to get pictures of me other wise and those only happen when i'm not paying attention or family functions.

After my last baby was born. I only gained 15 pounds with that pregnancy and lost 30 in the first 6 weeks after she was born. That had me weighing 10 pounds less than I had in about 4 years. I'm now a size medium and am a lot happier with how I look (in clothes anyway). My profile pic is the first body shot I've posted here.

  • I'm a "boobs-up-but-only-at-certain-angles" girl myself. I know I have a great rack, so I always hope that might distract from my fat chin.

  • I hate having my picture taken! i feel bad because I'm sure my kids one day are going to be like "Where are all the pictures of Mom and us?" I have just joined myfinesspal but before I was on weight watchers and I have lost 26 lbs and I still hate getting my picture taken. I wonder what my magic weight will be?
