Eating the TDEE of your goal weight for weight loss?

So I've heard of people using this method before, wondering if it works?

I have been eating my BMR but am thinking of changing it to this because it just makes more sense to me.
Eat the same amount of calories for the rest of your life and your weight will just sort itself out.

Anyone had success??

Sort of trying that now, so far so good, reckon I'd be doing even better if I did more strength training.

I'm just starting it, i think it makes sense,
if we are thinking of the same thing here, eg. eat like a 120 lb person to become a 120 lb person type of idea from the fat2fit book.

Hi. Check out the group Eat More to Weigh Less. The information on eating at tdee on the site is amazing. And the group is very supportive.

I am eating at a constant amount with a small cut. I'm one week in. Every 4 weeks, I am going to cut 100 calories until I see results. It will be very interesting to see what happens. I have a feeling, I'll wind up somewhere real low. But, we'll see.

yer it's a great book, full of good ideas and motivational stuff as well but it's a easy read if you know what i mean, nothing mind blowing, but thats why i think it works, good basic stuff with no quick fixes.
It convinced me and i'm very skeptical about things. i would say get the book or you can get free pod casts.

I went to fat2fitradio and did their BMR calculator and it told me to eat at 1650 for the thinner me (sedentary) and it said a cpl hundred below that was ok to speed up weight loss so after this week I am back to upping my cals by 100 each week to get back to 1500. 1500 was working just fine when I was doing it before! (with eating back workout cals).

Theoretically it should work but it could be extremely slow if you're close to your goal weight. Even 20 lbs. away could be only maybe a 100 calorie/day difference in TDEE so you could spend 2 years losing that 20 lbs. unless you bump it down a notch. Tracking calories that long might not be realistic, especially with the scale feedback being practically non-existent, at a pound a month or so.

I've been doing this for about 3 1/2 months (kudos to the eat-for-your-future-self gang) and have been losing on average a pound a week - just like I hoped I would. No starving, no stressing, and no stalls (yet - knock on wood!). I expect my loss to slow as I get closer to my goal (10 more to go!) and naturally shift from weight-loss to maintenance - all on 1750 calories a day. I would be getting more, but my activity level isn't all that high.
