I keep ending up with 300 - 500 calories left at the end of the day. But I'm maxed out on protein and carbohydrates. I don't know what to eat. Any suggestions?

what is your carb/fat/protein ratio? That doesn't sound right....... carbs are easy to max out but how much fat are you eating???

I like having some buffer calories personally especially since Im only about 90 percent accurate on my logging. Sometimes I under log sometimes over I'm happy as long as the end result is losing weight and getting stronger

Agreed. I pretty much go a little more than double what the "recommended" here is on MFP. Carbs though, I can never hit. I generally stay around 100. 250 seems excessive.

I am usually right on on carbs, sometimes a couple of percent over. I'm usually right on or a little under on protein. I'm usually 5-10% under on fat. It seems dumb to eat extra fat to get calories.

I've been worrying about the sugar in fruits and vegetables. But maybe that's not a big deal.

Concensus seems to be extra protein is okay and if I'm going to go over, that would be where to go.

I'm glad that you started this thread because I had the same exact question: I'm left over with 200-250 cal every day and my total cal is 1200! but If I eat I go way over on my 30 grams of sugar and 100 grams of carbs and 30 grams of fat..

If you're not hungry, I wouldn't worry too much. That's a buffer for when you've under-estimated something, or the days you can't resist a treat.
If you are hungry, protein won't hurt you if you go over.
I usually spend any left-over calories on cups of tea or some fruit, or a treat like a yoghurt.

Protein and fat levels are really low on MFP and should be treated as a minimum - so it's ok to go over as long as you hit your calorie target. Suggestings: peanut butter, dairy, eggs.

I use the weight watchers list of "free foods" if I am still hungry - most veg/fruit except the starchy kinds like potatoes, egg white, sugar free jelly.

I find if I have done a long or intense bike ride the next day I am still very hungry - I tend to not eat as many calories as I need on ride day as I physically can't but I don't worry if I go over the next day due to increased appetite, so long as I'm not filling up on junk.

if you have calroies left over at the end of the day i wouldnt suggest eating at all- as part of a diet is training yourself to NOT eat when your NOT hungry, as part of putting weight on is eating when your not hungry!!!
