Can I eat 1500 calories..

My fitness pal says i need to be eating only 1380 calories a day. Would I still lose weight if I stay just under 1500 calories.
Not exercising at the moment due to injury but keep busy as I look after my little ones.
If it helps I'm 5ft9 and weigh 77kilos ta.

Probably...its not that far different. Maybe a tad slower, but that's healthy and sensible anyway.0

depending on your injury, maybe you can sit down and just punch with your arms. it's a good way to get your heart rate going. you could also just walk a lot.0

If you sit on the couch all day I'd use a sedentary setting.0 -
thanks to so far who have posted. I've hurt my back pretty bad but it's getting on the mend.

No matter what a site says, the only way to actually know if a certain number of calories, or activity level is going to work for you, is to actually DO it!0 -
I think increasing calories for the meantime is probably a good idea. You need those calories to heal!0

I think if you go into settings where you set up your weight loss goals (i.e. 1lb/week or 1.5lb/week etc...) it tells you what calorie deficit your calorie intake goal is set for. so if you're supposed to eat 1340 based on MFP, that might be a 400 cal deficit. so another 160cals to put you up to 1500 would still have you at a deficit, so you SHOULD still be able to lose weight. that being said, i agree with the above poster who said the only way to know would be to try... everyone is different.

We're all different. I think that the best advice is to try it for a couple weeks and see what happens. Surely you won't gain eating 1500 calories a day, and if you don't lose so what. Just make adjustments as your body tells you it's necessary.
We all want to lose quickly, but it takes time to figure out our bodies. I think that it's better to take the time needed and work at it than what it is to stress about it.0 -
If you're set at 2 lbs per week, change it to 1...if you're at 1 lb per week, change it to 1/2. There. Now your goal is at least 1500.
You need those extra calories to heal!0 -

Yes, focus on you recovery. A big part of health I feel is to be in an injury free state so let yourself get better.
As for the number of calories you could eat 1,500 seems just fine. If you want a more accurate figure plug in your details into the BMR calculator below:

and simply aim for the number it generates for you given your specific details.0 -
you will loose weight with 1500, as long as its under maintenance you will loose weight. Do not starve yourself though.0
