Adjusting to Changes

So I recently had gallbladder surgery. Apparently that's what has been making me sick for so many years. Now that the problem seems to be taken care of, I still of a lot of adjusting to do. I have lost the ability to handle red meats, pork, full fat diary products, most yellow cheese, caffeine, and any greasy or fried foods. I am just reaching out for support and encouragement. People around me are not good with change or understanding things without asking a great deal of questions. I am naturally shy, even writing this to strangers is hard. I just want to hear that I can do it, make all the changes and finally get on the track to being healthy. Also if any of you have any great recipes, nutrition tips or advice feel free to share. Thank you. You all inspire me everyday.

Change is difficult but so good for us. Cliche but true I have learned to embrace it.
Sounds like it's time to find some fruits and vegetables that you love, as well as some great recipes for poultry (turkey included) and the wonderful world of seafood. Feel free to send me a friend request. I can recommend books, recipe blogs, and the like once I know what you're looking for

About 10 years ago, I found out it was sugar that was making me feel terrible. I tried to stip eating it altogether all at once, but it's HARD to cut so much out of your diet all at once. But, it was made easier because when I did eat it I felt yucky, and I started to realize the sweet taste wasn't worth the yucky feeling. Changing your diet is about doing the best you can, and not beating yourself up when you eat the wrong thing, but trying to remember how it's making you feel when you do so you won't reach for it again the next time.
Also, be prepared for people to make lots of comments about why you aren't eating something they conosider normal. Peple gave me a hard time for not eating sugar, like "non one's on a diet when there's birthday cake" or you don't need to worry about your weight so go ahead and eat it." It's up to you how to handle it. I was very frank, and said, "Believe me, I wish I could, but eating it makes me really sick.: And if pressed, I just just told them what I had.
Don't let their judgment or comments deter you. Only you know what your body needs, and often their comments are driven by the fact that they don't think they should be eating it, but feel better if they make it the norm to do so!
Hang in there. It's hard at first, but it gets better!0 -

Thank you for sharing your personal experiences...it sounds a great deal like my family. They mean well but it does not always come across that way. Thank you both for your encouragement, it is great to not feel alone.0

my mom had gallbladder surgery. It's hard to adjust to, but there are a lot more lean options out there now then there used to be!
there are delish turkey breakfast sausages, and turkey/chicken combinations instead of pork for sausages.
the good news is, this will make you eat much cleaner! you'll be so much healthier with out all the high fat/grease0 -
its hard to deal with the changes.... i have had mine out around 2 months now and im still adjusting... its hard when you want to eat something and your not sure if its going to make you double over in discomfort...
feel free to add me if you need extra support, encouragement, and someone to talk too.
i hope all goes well on your path to a healthy you0
