I am on my way to our wednesday wine night we have weekly. I have alloted 700 calories but I am concerned about the fajitas. I am having a hard time figuring out the calories and I don't want to be rude to my friend. Does anyone have suggestions??

Whenever I'm in a situation like this, I'll try to jot down on a notepad or piece of scrap paper what I'm eating - trying to itemize it as much as possible, then I'll go back home and enter things in as best I can. Luckily fajitas are pretty easy to figure out components - the meat, the tortilla, the veggies. If you want info (such as the brand of the tortillas, since it can make a difference) - you could try to ask by saying something like "I really like these tortillas, what brand are they?" Or, if they're good friends, then just tell them you're trying to track what you eat, and would they mind if you jotted down info on the food? (That's what I do at my mom's house.)

    Good luck!

if I'm not sure, I just use the highest calorie one from a restaurant - that way it should be approximately what you're getting- and be honest with your friend - if you're close enough for that.

I would just do one fajita with a tortilla and then if you go back for seconds just do meat and veggies... stay away from the cheese (no one will even notice) and tortilla chips. I also bring a "side dish" that is good, like a veggie tray, then you can snack all night. I also jot down what I eat so I don't forget.... especially if you are drinking wine. :) Have fun
