Its about that time to make a change

Looking to become fit, healthy and confident before I turn 40!! That gives me oh about 6 months. There is one problem, I'm a pepsi addict. I would probably be at a decent weight if I could pass up on the soda. If I had a choice between a meal or a pepsi.. yeah you guessed it -I'd pick the pepsi. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know this is and has been one of my greatest downfalls.

I was never one to choose soda over food, but I did drink nothing but sprite and coke zeroes for a while. All I can say is go slow, keep at it, and eventually you will turn down offers of soda because of how bad and bloated they can make you feel. Start with replacing one a day with water for a while and go up from there. Water held no appeal to me whatsoever, but in just over a month I've gone to drinking one coffee in the morning and then nothing but water - all without a second thought or craving.

what is it they say, 21 days makes a habit? i've been using this site for almost a year and i've found it to be amazingly helpful at really examining what i eat, how much i move, and how it affects my body. like khaosstar said, start slow and don't try to make too many huge changes at once. cutting out soda is an awesome place to start. adding friends with similar goals as yours is also really helpful for motivation, support, and getting ideas about healthy choices. feel free to add me welcome and good luck!0

Have you tried the Pepsi version of the Coke Zero? I think it's Pepsi Max or Pepsi One? I didn't like Diet Coke, but I love Coke Zero. Give it a shot!0

You are not helping yourself if you replace Pepsi, Coke, or any other soda with a diet soda. The reason diet sodas are carb free is because they dont have real sugar, they use artificial sugar. Artificial sugar tricks your mind into thinking it is consuming something sweet. Most people then use the carbs they have left if they had the soda. Even if they don't your body holds onto the excess weight. It is actually better to stick with regular soda...
Studies have shown that you actually gain weight by drinking diet beverages. If it wasn't true, why are the obese people who drink diet sodas still obese?
Drink water and nothing else. See the book titled Your Body's Many Cries For Water by Dr. Batman. After getting started with reading this book, you should be convinced that water is the best.0 -

Giving up soda was the hardest thing I've done yet (well actually that would be wine, but I haven't accomplished that yet ). My thing was Coke. I gave it up for lent several years ago, and I had a really bad week or two, and then I was ok. I switched to unsweet tea, which I love. I didn't have headaches (because of the tea), but it was still just so hard. I just recently gave up unsweet tea for water. That wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. But I still haven't given up wine in the evening . You can do it. It is only painful for a short time. I would say you can enjoy it in moderation since this is a lifestyle change, and that would be true. But soda can be so bad for you.0
