Broken wrist, divorce, and a horrible 2 months!

Now that you read the title and think I'm looking for pity, I'm not. I've just went through one of the worst two months of my life. I went from wife deciding needing a break (extended..aka complete) break from me. I broke my wrist doing who knows what. Dealing with family illness, and 60hr work weeks. I slipped down a bad path for a bit, back into old habits but I found myself not fully diving back into those habits, I did eat a lot of fast food again, but I cut it back in amounts I ate. Stress and lack of sleep didn't help and I did gain some weight back but I always knew in the end I had to get back on track. For anyone else that is going through a rough patch remember that sometimes it's best to focus on the issues at hand, let the diet/lifestyle still be in the back of your mind but it doesn't have to be the full focus, then come on back and keep at it!

Life throws you a lot of curve balls and sometimes we aren't hitting the ball very well! I plan on breaking my non-hitting streak pretty soon! Just keep plugging away, remember this is a life style change and there will be ups and down in it!

PS. To the rest of you that has seen me in the past, I'm back fool!!! TEN HUT! :-)

Well said...and I appreciate the baseball reference =)

I think we all go through a period in life where it just seems like nothing is going our way. But you can either dwell on the negativity and let it encompass your life, or make a rational decision to put yourself first and make your own successes.

So keep sitting back on that curveball and wait for it to break, because sooner or later a fastball comes down the sweetspot =)

You can do it, I do believe that sometimes we put so much focus on this journey that our other journey's sometimes get a bit rockier than they have to be. Sometimes you just need to slow down the weight loss wagon, flag down the other vehicle that your sanity and other life issues are in and help them change the flat tire they have! Then you can hope back into the weight loss wagon and keep on trucking!

I'm sorry to hear all this :(.... BUT happy that you recognised that it cannot be your old habits that become your life. So your decision making process snapped you back to reality. Divorce is hard. It drains you. The heart will heal, the wrist will heal and all else will fall into place. Good luck to you!

Wow, I was there when I divorced at 28 and he left me 25K broke! He claimed to the lawyer he was only making 25K per year when in reality it was 75K. So the debts were split in the middle when I was only making 30k at the time.

Fast forward to today and I am happy, debt-free, healthy and living my dream! So happy that chapter is long gone!

I wish you happier days ahead!

I need to find a way to do that! Would make things a bit easier :-D Either that or find a way to bottle up some of my belly fat and make some product that everyone needs out of it!

Welcome back JR, glad to see you starting to get back on track!

You are 100% correct, sometimes you need to just take a little break and work on life. I've been there myself and finally got my sh&t figured out and came back better than ever.

I know you can do this, I've seen what you can accomplish. Keep up the hard work! :)
    You're a homerun hitta ... get crackin :)
