Doing good on Holidays!

I have only been on MFP for a little over 10 days and I tend to find it hard to 'behave' on Holidays with all the good food and drinks sitting around you just calling out your name!! How do you 'behave' and not crack under the pressure?!
I also find it hard to motivate myself to work out, like using Holidays as an excuse to not work out, sigh, sometimes the Holiday seasons are more stressful as you get older...

  • I think about how I get to enjoy feeling good all day and how my overall life is better when I make the right choices...that feels so much better than any short term food or drink fix

    You can do it. We have to understand that food don't control us we control food. We control ourselves. We are the ones choosing our food not our food choosing us. even though at times we think it's calling us so we go get it. I think the first thing is to see what type of eater are you. like emotional,snacker and so on. Feel free to add. we can tackle this together.
  • Thanks!! I am more of a snacker so I tell myself a snack here or there won't hurt anything, but then it turns into A LOT of snacking. Then I am super bummed out that I took it that far to ruin my entire calorie intake for that day... It's a work in progress and since I started MFP my snacking is NOTHING like it used to because it truly put everything in perspective based on my daily consumption, and I was disgusted by that LOL!
