Progress - Half marathon, now INSANITY (pics)

Okay...I've put this off long enough. After months of being completely impressed by others posting their progress...it is my turn.

The pics on the left were taken on February 27th, and I weighed 187.6, the ones on the right were taken July 2nd at 164.8lbs (and one week of INSANITY under my belt)

Edited to add: I started training in mid-february for the half marathon which took place on May 20th. All I did were my training runs. No lifting, just eating right and running. I had some hamstring/IT band issues and was told by my doctor to take 3 weeks off. After that, I did my Fit Test and started INSANITY

(trying again)

I started training for a half marathon. The Diva Series "Run like a Diva" in Myrtle Beach, SC (which I was assured was relatively flat). I found a running plan on Runners.com, printed it out, put it on my fridge and got my butt outstide or to the gym to complete all the runs

That is awesome, and you look great!!!! I began Insanity awhile back in order to train for the 13 mile Tough Mudder Mud Run....the run, was a breeze from the training. It is the absolute best workout I have come accross. It is NOT easy, but you can take breaks in the beginning - I didn't have much to lose but I have never been this toned (I am 37 and more toned now that in my early 20's!)

    You look great! Keep going!
Funny, I did the exact thing you did. I signed up for a half marathon. Started training in February for my May 4th run. Did mostly running with maybe one day of arm weights and sit ups a week. Messed up my IT Band. I still have problems and started physical therapy this week. Currently doing strength training with some cardio. I was told I will be able to get back to running by Sept. Yay!

THANK YOU for positing. I am about the same weight you started at and training for my first half. I had some knee issues that are cleared up and I am back to training. Your before and after are very inspiring!

You look great keep up the hard work!
