Hi,

My name is Rovin, I was adopted at birth in 1968. I have the hospital I was born at and the date and time. I also know the Adoption agency that my parents got me through. My parents that raised me have passed on. I am wondering if this enough information to start to research for my birth Mom. I would like some medical info only. Is there any one that can tell me how to start?
My 20year old daughter has a lump in her breast, she will have a biopsy sometime soon. I have always been curious about medical issues anyways but now I am even more curious.

Thanks for your help!
Robin

check out the "5 things about me" topic in chit chat...without reading the entire thing, there were three or four posts, around pages 15 thru 17, where people said they just found their birth parents. i am sure they would offer some advice if you sent them a request...

    good luck.

Robin here are two possible sites that can provide you wth some assistance in your search:

    here are the websites:

www.gsadoptionregistry.com and this is free and they have these search angels who volunteer to help come up with info as long as you give them everything you know.

    or

www.birthsearchers.com her name is Berta Wilder and she is the one who with the birth certificate can tell you a last name. This is fee based.

I too was adopted in 1968!! I found my birthmom about 15 years ago (she's on MFP too!!) and had a fabulous reuinion with an entire biological family. I know that's not what everyone wants or needs, but it is so fabulously interesting to find out bits of yourself, whether it be medical history or more.

I did what some have suggested, posted my stuff and found a search angel. Reunion Registry on facebook has some angels and well, most adoption type of "message boards" do. Also there is an International Soundex Reunion Registry, and before you begin any search, any angel or other person will suggest you register with them (issr.net). It's just a central location that will match you up if the person you are searching for has also requested to be matched. What you choose to do with that person (or not) is solely your choice.

Before i found my bio mom, i wrote to both the court and the adoption agency to ask for my records. Of course they inked out identifying information, but they did provide them, and that would include any medical information they were given by the birthmother at that time.

    Good luck with your search!!
