6000 calories? Can that be right?

Hello,
I've just joined, in the hope that being part of a 'programme' and on-line community might help me shift the weight that has been creeping up on me.
One thing concerns me so far though... It is saying that I need to consume about 6000 calories a day... Can that be right, or are the calories on here weighted differently to the ones we are familiar with in the UK. If anyone can advice me, I would be grateful!
Best wishes to you all,
Denise

Yikes check your settings!!!! You may have set them to a 2 pound gain a week instead of loss.0

It's possible, if you're extremely overweight, but it's more likely you had a typo with ht and wt0 -
That is NOT right! Take a look at it and see if something is amiss - no one needs to be eating 6,000 calories a day.0
-
I would set up your profile again. That doesnt seem right at all.0

Yeah, something isn't right there for sure. the US Calories and the UK Kcal are the same unit of measurement. check your current and goal weights - maybe you had to put them down in pounds and miscalculated from kilos? its 2.2lbs per kilo.0
-
That can't be right check your settings, 6000 calories NO WAY!0

As a 46 year old female looking to lose ~7 kilos (the stats I could see from your profile page), I can virtually guarantee that a 6000 calorie target is erroneous.0
-
lbs vs kg conversion error? definitely check your settings!0
-
Most likely your setting were on Kgs and you entered your weight in pounds, which would have MFP think you weigh about 2.2 times what you actually weigh.0

This happened to someone the other day, see the person's reply above me, do that0
