Question for FitBit Users

Is there a way to turn off the automatic calorie adjustments that FitBit makes to MFP?

I am only using my FitBit during exercise times and hate that it keeps adding extra eat-back calories to my daily goal.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW: I do love the FitBit. It's just that since I'm new to exercising/nutrition stuff I want to monitor only those activities that I do that are beyond my normal daily processes.

You can totally un-synch it. Or you can raise your MFP activity level to include your 'Fitbit calories', for example, if you're set to sedentary and your Fitbit says otherwise, it's giving an adjustment.

Why do you only wear it during exercise? That's sort of the opposite of what it was designed for.

If you wanted to closer track your exercise times, you could use the stopwatch function to track it. Start it when you start exercising then stop when done. Then on the fitbit site name the activity so it will stand out for you in the log activity area.

This is what you have to do. If you use the stopwatch feature to track workouts, then add your exercise to MFP at that same time, they will sync up and not be doubled.

Yours does seem an odd query but I agree that you're probably best unlinking the two sites.

I adjusted my base calories so the exercise calories that are added put me about where I want to be. If you don't work out daily, you can create an exercise called whatever you want to compensate for those missed calories. I usually just ignore what MFP says to eat and go with what Fitbit says. MFP database is great but the fitbit dashboard gives me more data and control.

I also vote for wearing it all the time. You don't know how many extra steps you're missing from parking further away, walking the cart back into the store etc. It all adds up and you'll be encouraged to do more of the little stuff.

    Thanks everyone.

I do use the stopwatch function for all my exercises.
But it will usually give between 50-150 calories burned beyond that in an "adjustment".
I'm just tired of deleting it all the time.
