Soon in food paradise... HELP!

In a couple of months I'll be off to Cuba...Ok, food ain't the best, but since I am not picky, I like everything, so resort's food is pretty good. But even though I am in vacation, i want to keep everything control and on track..... but how the heck do you count in a resort buffet? :grumble:
Anyone has some tricks?
Thanks in advance!

Drink at least one full glass of water before eating. Eat a cheese/crouton-less salad w/ a little vinaigrette before anything else. Try filling up on the grilled/broiled/baked meat entrees and fibrous veggies (e.g. broccoli) an limit the high fat/starchy entrees. Protein and fiber fill you up so you will be less tempted to binge on the rest of the food. If you really are not a breakfast person, you could just skip it and save your calories for your other two meals (provided this wouldn't cause you to binge even more). Avoiding alcohol will probably help you too.

I went there.... my advice is take a food vacation! My resort food was delicious, not to mention the free-flowing rum and wine.... ENJOY YOUR VACATION! Work hard when you get back ;)

If you really want to be good, then YES, just drink 1-2 glasses of water before you eat and try to eat a lot of the protein :)

That IS difficult! I know you said you're not much of a breakfast eater, but I would try to eat a healthy breakfast to get your day started right, at the very least some fruit. Fill your plate with lots of veggies & eat salads with vinaigrette & veggies to help fill you up. Drink lots of water & when you're tempted, just have a little of what you're craving & not a lot. You're on vacation - ENJOY! You can keep on track without totally getting derailed! Good luck!

I was on vacation a week ago and still afraid to get on the scale. We were on the move all the time so we ate out every meal and couldn't take leftovers home, so I ate way too much. I planned to get started back as soon as we got home, but we have been back almost a week. I've done pretty good this week, but not great. I enjoyed my vacation. If I gained weight, I will deal with it eventually. Have fun, just don't go crazy. Drink your water, get your veggies in, But IMHO vacations are a very special occassion and you should enjoy it.

Incorporate lots of fun calorie burning activities, so you can enjoy the extra food and drinks!

You all have nice advices, thanks!
For sure, I'll have to cheat at least once!
The rest, yes, when said, it's plain logic! I'll just have to get the will power in front of all this food! ahahahah!
