I suffer from IBS.. irritable bowel syndrome. Which means.... if I eat the wrong thing---- diarrhea. Sorry if thats TMI

I am realizing now that its actually a blessing in disguise. It forces me to eat better. And since cleaning up my diet SIGNIFICANTLY in the past couple months, its really coming in handy...
I stopped eating fast food.. COLD TURKEY... hardest thing ever. Went almost a whole month without it... but when I tried it again recently... lets just say that there were consequences. My system used to be able to handle it and now I can't tolerate it. Its forcing me to stay on the wagon.

I never thought I would say this, but I'm kinda grateful for my condition.. The healthier I eat, the happier my body is =) and the more it rejects the bad stuff!
even beer :( I love it, but my body hates it and lets me know.

Hey! good for you that you are taking the positive out of something negative!! I'm just curious if you've been tested for gluten intolerance (aka celiac disease), as anything with wheat can cause bloating and diarrhea. I am only curious because of concern as I'm a nurse!-- and diarrhea is peanuts compared to increased risk of colon cancer....

Its really great when your body realizes the sugar in natural foods is satisfying, isnt it? :) take care and keep it up!!!

HAHA! totally know what you mean! have you found also that increasing your fibre at first troubled your bowels, but after about a week it gets normal?

every time i go from a certain extreme to another. my bowels say, "um excuse me, you're gonna wish you didn't do that!"

for example, a day of fast food and junk, followed by a day of fruit and salad = toilet time. lol TMI?

I'm just happy i found someone with 'likeminded' bowels. hahaha!

I don't suffer from anything like that but since I've been eating better, whenever I eat anything greasy, it makes me sick. I went to a ball game tonight with my family and my kids wanted french fries. Since it was my son's birthday, I let them have them. Just the smell of all the grease was disgusting.

I can totally relate to your situation. I also have IBS but have found with a clean diet (I eat an 80/20) diet and exercise I am able to control it without medication. My triggers are rosemary and curry of all things so I have to steer completely clear of those. I rarely eat fast food but splurge occasionally at the buffets in Vegas. The key for me is to eat every 3 hours. If I go longer I have to start with a carb then protein, the other way around causes chaos.
