Extra skin

When I was heavier I thought to myself if I could just lose the weight I wouldn't care if it meant I had extra skin. I feel kinda bad complaining but I do care. Its not tons of it but I have worked really hard for this new body and I would like to look in mirror and like what I see naked. Any tips to get rid of it? Surgery is out of the question. My vanity has never been able to rule my wallet to that level (no offense to those who can, I am totally jealous).

I feel the same way. I've got a good amount of loose skin around my gut and moobs. I hear drinking lots of water helps (as if it wouldn't hurt). For exercise, I've read that, while you can't necessarily target skin retention, pushups, crunches, and planks are helpful in strengthening your core and working the muscles there to tighten the skin. Congrats on almost reaching your goal. It may take some time, but we can lose the skin.0

Great job on your weight loss! I was on here looking to see what happens and what I can do about the "extra skin" issue. I'm only 19 pounds down and already am seeing a problem with it. Your after pic looks great!!! I don't see any extra skin on ya!
Thanks for sharing your weight loss story!0 -
it'll stretch back in time. My hubby went from nearly 400 lbs to 180 in about 2 years, had this problem, nasty stretch marks too. The skin sag is gone, but still has the marks, though they're fading.0

I was wondering what would happen to my extra skin once I get to my goal too. I hope it does correct itself in time!0

I was recently talking to my husband about my loose skin concerns and his exact words to me were, "It's a good problem to have." And he's right. I absolutely have a little hanging skin on my lower belly and my inner thighs, I still have about 20-30 pounds to go so I'll see how I look then and decide what I plan to do. If it's really minimal I'll just live with it and keep his words in the back of my mind but if it's a lot I may consider surgery.0

it really depends on your genetics.... some of it will shrink back with time. Some might not. The only true cure for loose skin is plastic surgery. Sad, but true. Expensive, but true.0

Drink tons of water and oil it up - twice a day I know I'm definitely going to get loose skin as well and am already preparing myself the same way some pregnant prepare the swollen bellies. Hope this helps! xx0
