Starting this for the last time

I'm a hopeless dieter who hasn't so much yo'yo'd , i'm more of a yo :))

Doing some serious soul searching and in need of a life change before i hit the big 50 in three years time.

I've started my blog (believe it or not it's called july1965's blog, imaginative eh?), as i know from past attempts that writing down your feeling's and thought's does help, i just lack faith in myself. So anyone out there in MFP world want to send a friend request through go ahead. I'm taking one day at a time

    Hi there and welcome.

There again, like anything in life - the more you put into it - the more you get out of it.

Just keep logging and in time you will see results. Don't give up. If you don't log food one day, that's fine. Just be sure to log most days. You will see results.

I did great back in 2010 - trying now to get back to where I was. It is so hard - but just remember, everybody on here is going through the same thing. And in a way, that brings me a lot of comfort.

    :drinker:

You can do it ... focus on small goals. Don't give up if you've had a bad day/meal.

One year behind you (April '66). I've got $0.02 that might help because I've tried losing weight about, oh a hunderd times. This combination of scheduled Gym classes and MFP is working really well for me. But there's one BIG difference and I realize its also how I quit smoking 20 years ago.

When I quit smoking I used to say I quit "out of the corner of my eye". Meaning? I made the tiniest drama of it all. Previous times, I would find myself DYING for a smoke. Nothing could distract me from the fact that TODAY I'M NOT SMOKING, The one time I succeeded my attitude was more "not smoking today... meh. Now whats happening in the real world". I had little tricks when the craving hit like saying "I won't have one now, I'll have one in 20 minutes". If I still had the craving - I'd change the scenery/go do something different.

To weight; I started MFP and the Gym both on 13/April. Losing exactly 2lb a week on average. While I do talk about stiff muscles and "no pizza, thanks - I'll just have 2 crackers and a can of tuna" - I'm really not doing any drama with it. My wife has commented on it several times. Do I have to sometimes get to the Gym 2 hours before sunrise? Yes. But when there's no big deal about it, its all SO much easier.

I don't know if I'm making sense. But I do know this "meh" attitude - plus the ability to count calories on my phone (I did WeightWatchers years ago ... on a number of occasions!) - I what is making the difference for me. Its like it leaves space in your head to do stuff like buy vegetables and schedule a jog.

    Again, just my $0.02...
    Best o' luck!
